Ibelieve that the 16" wheel bikes with taller gearing to compensate for the diameter. I would like to have the tall gear with the tall tire, so the thrashy 5000 rpm cruise hits at a little higher speed. Of course, I don'r care enough to actually track down the parts or change them.

          Nice Project.

Its gonna get something between the vinyl and foam, probably memory foam again.. that was the plan anywho.

Thats just my step daughters powerwheels HAHA she never rides it though:/

Finally ordered the gaskets for the topend tonight. While the head is off im going to do some cleaning up in the ports or track down a d port and some 750e cams.
It should be a great sport tourer. Emphasis on the sport, haha. Gonna paint the frame and msc. Parts with rustolum like i did the last bike. It looked real well, and held up great through gas and fire

How did you like the memory foam, Brandon? I'm about to redo my seat cover, and while I have it off thinking about trying to make it more comfy. I've been hesitant on the memory foam, because I like to shift around a lot while I ride. I was thinking that memory foam would remember the "squish" from my last butt position too long and actually be a bit uncomfortable...

It was my bike and I had the memory foam installed. The GS already has some of the most comfy seats around, but the memory foam really made a difference and it isn't as squishy as you would think. It doesn't hold the shape of your butt when you are off it. You will have no problem shifting around on the seat, but the memory foam actually keeps you from needing to shift around. It was about an inch thick and was installed in place of where the installer removed an inch of the original foam and shaped to look stock. Unless you knew it was there or sat on it you would have never know anything was done.

That's reassuring. Between gel and foam, which would you say is better?

Memory foam is just that, it's foam. The gel is a pad. We had one on my FZ6, but it was installed by the PO. You could see it under the cover. I guess it could be inserted into the foam, if the seat foam was scooped out. What I didn't like about the foam was it would retain the heat when it was sitting in the sun. That may be a good thing during the winter, but not in Fl in the summer. It is an unwanted gift that keeps on giving. Like driving a car with a heated seat and you're already hot.

Edit. I just saw that I wrote foam instead of pad. The memory foam is awesome, the gel pad was what held the heat all day.

I liked the foam, the seat was just too high for looks wise, and when i installed the clip on's it was slightly uncomfortable on my wrists. Lowering it almost made it perfect to match the handle bars, and im pretty sure ill get a bit of memory foam to stick on the top again.
