Hey Bill what track were u at?

    I'm doing my 4th tomorrow, it'll be 90.
Guess I'm kind of a wuss with the current temps cresting 110 elsewhere.

2018 I was at Autobahn Country Club, IL, in 2020 at Grattan Raceway, MI. It was at Grattan where I soaked my helmet. At least at Grattan I was topping off at 140mph on their 3,000' straight. Not bad for a 30 yo oil cooler.

There were 4 red flags today in all groups, but didn't really effect our group much.
Maybe lost 7 minutes of track time.

It was 90 when I left, really don't enjoy riding as much when it's over 75.
Since I payed for it, I still had a great time, only 15 people in our group,
so it was worth battling the heat for open track time.
Lots of clean laps with nobody around. Can't complain.

New winner in race 2 Moto America Superbike @ Brainerd MN & a big highside in race one.

WSBK had a former winner win race 1 @ Most.
Then back to the usual in race 2, though Toprak had a deflating tire & crashed unfortunately.
Guess 2nd to last vid was superpole, not race 2.
He's exciting to watch & brakes super-super late.

Interesting ok race, nasty hi-side, or maybe a swing-side because the rider was whipped around and off, not over and above the bike.
It was next rider along who got the raw deal, smashed right into the crashed bike as it rolled and bounced at track speed.

Saw a similar whip around in a 1950s crime movie. Cop on a Harley locked his rear brake riding on mountain road with some snow & ice. Whipped around 180 and fell on his butt, got up and continued pursuit.

He spent the whole (most of) the race determining where the road was sticky and wet, wore out his tires, and at the end, loses the race. He's still very far ahead on points though. If Quartero doesn't have Yamaha get him a new bike, well, the Japanese bikes are in trouble.

The Japanese manufacturer's non competitiveness is unprecedented. Suzuki had the best bike of the Japanese, but, obviously, they left the sport over cost. I think Honda is committed to improve, but Yamaha seems stuck in the past with their I4 engine layout, which isn't competitive anymore.

From opinions I've heard, it's the aerodynamic development skills and costs that are killing the Japanese manufacturers.
The European manufacturers are smaller and sell way fewer bikes, so it seems like the Japanese just don't want to spend the money in MotoGP.
Superbike racing involvement is more valuable to all the manufacturers.

I saw the end of that MotoGP in the U.K. What I didn't see were any females - umbrellas or otherwise. Do we not do that anymore?

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

I believe that Suzuki did not see MotoGP as generating sales, and could no longer justify the expensive. Yamaha is a huge corporation. I have no idea why Yamaha has not developed a new bike. If one more Japanese builder drops out, that will be the death knoll for MotoGP. It could be renamed "DucatiGP". IMHO I hope not. Kawasaki has stated WorldSBK as the better place to have racing involvement, and will not be taking Suzuki's spot.
