some kid swears he can beat my bike....i think his car only runs maybe a low 13...

Low 13 is pretty damned fast for a car. None of the old muscle cars could do it in stock form.

Then you know what it takes to make a 13 second car. His probably isn't.
I would guess a 850 could do around 13 if you can ride it right.

The 850 might have more top speed, that's probably about it.
Don't really know, never ridden a 250 Ninja except in a little neighborhood street full of kids. It seemed like a fun little bike, though.

Edit, just looked, a 250 Ninja does 15 second quarter miles. Might beat your buddy's Camaro though.

very fun in corners lol...my gs850 is a temp bike this year...maybe next year i can afford a nice gixxer 1000 or at least at 750...

that is unless i fall in love with this bike

The 850 should be doing about 75-80 mph and the 'maro would be barely able to hit 60-65 mph by then.

It's all about torque!

Torque is good, but not without traction...
Not sure, but I didn't think any could in stock form, maybe that's not true.

You better have new clutch plates and springs in your 850 before you race.
Because if they're as old as the bike, (and probably are), you're gonna be embarrassed.
Easy job to replace those, I just did it last Oct.
