Kornfeil landed in the gravel and managed to avoid a tankslapper after that, it was most impressive. In moto3 the KTM was clearly the fastest bike, Martin could barely hold the draft on the Honda. The whole weekend was a crashfest, over 100 crashes in total. Too bad for Zarco, but he was so amped up for this race I figured he was going to win or bin... Rossi laid a beating on Vinales this round and the Yamaha looked almost competitive. Looking forward to Mugello, it is my favorite track and usually features a moto3 lead group of 20+ riders.

You have to be registered to watch that video. Here is one from youtube:

It's a massive crash, he apparently ended up with a concussion and dislocated shoulder. It looked like a brake malfunction of some sort, like the brakes locked full on or similar the way the bike nosedived and dug in.

            Geez, that's a scary crash!!
Hard to imagine a brake failure mode that would lead to that, but i guess anything's possible. It looks like he just grabbed way to much front brake, but that's hard to envision too, given his level of experience on that bike and at that track.

Rossi in pole, Whoregay second, Vinales 3rd. Marquez down in 6th...... should be a good race.

Also, interesting quote from David Emmet,

The footage just didn't look real at first glance - it was like he was a rag doll being thrown through the air or some CGI....

Amazing that he survived that with minimal injuries.

Well, I certainly didn't expect that and I find it hard to believe that Lorenzo simply needed a different shape fuel tank to look like the Jorge of old. He's still a douchebag, but maybe he's back to being a fast douchebag.

He's always suffered when his bike isn't 100% perfect. He can't seem to ride around little problems like Marc and Vale are able to do.

But.....give him a perfect bike and he's right up front.

Yep. A happy Lorenzo is as fast as anybody in the world.

Yep, that was the old Lorenzo, holeshot, build a gap and then manage it to the end. Doesn't make for an exciting race, but it's impressive as hell.
