Wow! That Marquez highside was brutal. Kept him out of the Mandalika race. Reminded me of the many Carlos Checa highsides on YZR M1

The way he impacted on his ankle, he's lucky to have only been out for a single race

He was extremely lucky his high flying motorcycle missed him when it crashed to the ground. It was close.

Terrifying. What a ride by Oliveira too. The battles for 2nd-4th and 8th - 12th were fun to watch. Brad Binder really goosed his brother out of 8th... Sibling love! Isn't it remarkable that 1/4 of the field has a sibling in the race?

              Not good....

MARC Marquez, the Repsol Honda Team has announced, has suffered a second episode of diplopia after arriving back in Spain following the Indonesian round of the 2022 MotoGP World Championship last weekend.

Well crepe! Guess he's going to be out for a while again. Can't say I'm a Marquez fan but I think he has/does bring something to the sport.

                Anyone going to Austin?

I've been watching GP racing since 1978, and he's the best I've ever seen. Probably said this before here, but I was at COTA in 2013 when he won his first MotoGP race. Was here all three days and saw all of practice and qualifying. Left there just stunned, convinced he'd win the championship that year and as many after that as he was healthy for.
I saw the last Laguna Seca race that year.... He pulled Rossi's own undercut move on the corkscrew on Rossi in the race. We were standing right by the fence. Pretty cool to watch

Aleix Espargaro winning for the 1st time after 200 MotoGP races, I find very inspiring. Never having won in Moto 2 or 3, wow really inspiring.

Please hold back on the spoilers until a week or so has passed. I've got the races recorded, but haven't watched them all yet.

That said, I agree with you about AE. I'm so happy for him and Aprilia. They seem to have a really competitive package for this year.

Ok Ed, it's your thread so I will comply, however waiting a week after the results have been published before discussion is arbitrary. I will begin a new thread for immediate discussion of results.

I don’t really watch tv or any other racing, but I love MotoGP. I usually only catch highlights on YouTube though. I like the battle between the big bangers and the inline 4s

My understanding is that people don’t like Marquez because he’s too risky.

MotoGP qualifying was super exciting today. Track conditions changing from wet to (mostly) dry. Crashes all over the place. Wow! If the race is half as exciting, we are in for a treat!

What’s a team called if it’s not a factory team? I just read Aprilia got factory status this year, so what were they last year? We’re they not allowed to ride prototypes or something?
