Once I have derusted the undersides of a fender I dont repaint it..paint chips from rocks and road debris. Instead I tape off all the chrome and area I dont want touched and spray them with a few coats of truck bed liner. Its way tougher and protects the fender much better than paint.

Im have fopund that regular auto undercoatings stay a bit pliable and softand sticky. Leaving room for rocks and things to get embedded. Truck bed liner cures rock hard and it goes on pretty thin as well.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
