Fork Oil Level
I have completely rebuilt my forks and when I went to add oil it spilled out the air joint hole which happens to be at the 195 mm (7.7") mark. Which is great because that is the level at which the manual says to fill the tube up to. The question I have is how do I keep the oil from spilling out of the air joint pipe hole when I put the spring in and then install it on the bike?

That's what I am thinking. Odd that the manual shows them being filled off the bike, adding the springs and caps and then mounting them! No mention of the air tube holes.
Will the slight angle of the forks make a difference in the level of the oil or is it negligible?
Thanks,

Thanks,

If you can manage to place the tube (of whatever oil-slurping contraption that you use to set fork oil level) in the middle of the fork tube, it will give you the same level as if you had filled the forks straight up and down.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

Hopefully, you had the forks compressed while filling with oil.
When the forks are extended to put them on the bike, the level will go down.
