GS1000 - Bandit 600 forks and wheels
Hi, has anybody ever used the 600 bandit wheels and forks on a GS1000.

not fitted them myself but the front end should be pretty much a straight bolt on, yokes and all. not sure about the back wheel but should fit easy enough with a few spacers made up i expect1978 GS1085.
Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion! -

cheers, looks like a cheaper option than looking for suitable Bandit 1200 stuff, rear wheel will be ok as I have a Metmachex swingarm. Any idea what the wheel sizes are 3.5" front, 4.5" rear?

Off top of my head no. Check Bikez encyclopedia for year of bandit and that should tell you.

LOL. When I had my 750 I could jump up and down on that thing and never get it to turn over. And I came from the land of 2 strokes, where all I had was a kickstart.
Of course, it did not help that it was my first 4 cylinder and I weighed a good 140 lb. soaking wet.Comment

The Bandit steering stem is longer than the GS
You may be able to swap them, press away1978 GS 1000 (since new)

On first gen Bandit 1200 the steering stems are not a direct swap. The GS stem is a smaller diameter, I did that swap last year. I welded up the stem and machined it to a press fit.

1983 Gs1100ESD, rebuild finished! Body paintwork happening winter 2017:D
I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.Comment
