Cartridge emulators are said to make a big difference on these bikes, although I have no personal experience.

Use allballs.com 's fork conversion table to see if there are bearings that will work with the kaw stem and the gs neck.
Another variable is the length of the kaw stem.

Yep. Way too many sportbike forks are slapped on a GS just 'cos they look cool, but most sportbike forks are shorter.
This reduces cornering clearance a good bit.
So now you've got great suspension on one end of the bike but no way to put it to use. The point, I don't see it...1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
