Anyone use the cheapo Master Cylinders?

Working on small Kawasaki, single disc front. This is a budget bike.

Anyone use these cheapos? What are your thoughts?

I'm sure they need rebuild, but they look decent and easy to locate repair parts.

I bought a similar one, been using it a few months, not the finest made piece of machinery I've ever seen but it works fine.
There are a lot of cheap motorcycles made in Korea, India, Venezuela, England, Pakistan, etc and their brakes seem to mostly work OK.
It's not rocket science.

If the Kawa isn't much bigger than a 50cc scooter that MC will be fine. It's the same one that comes on Chinese 50's everyday. I've put several thousands of miles on them and not had any issues.

I'd rather buy a ten year old good-quality Japanese master cylinder and re-seal it with OEM bits than trust my neck to sub-standard rubber seals.
Talking of rocket science - Morton Thiokol?

Just an update. I bought & installed a cheap chinese front brake master cylinders for my KZ400 (single disc front) and have been using it for 2 years. I can report in it works great, zero issues. Sight glass plastic is kind of crazed (if that is correct terminology) but no issues with performance and I ride the KZ a lot. I ended up getting two shipped from Hong Kong for like $22 bucks

That looks very similar to the one i bought a couple years ago from Nickel Town.
Back then it was around $70.00. Used it for one season with no problems.

I've personally seen and used three of these.

The first was a horrid pile o' crap, but yeah, it worked.

The second one was used on a GS450 under restoration, and was a nice piece that worked perfectly.

The third was one I had on my GS850G for a few months. It worked perfectly well, and was a very high quality piece that came with a rebuild kit, brake switch, and extra lever. It worked perfectly well, but I didn't like the span to the lever. Just a slightly different shape than the original. I eventually finished sorting out my original MC (had to track down a sight glass) and reinstalled it.

I still have the Chinese MC on the shelf just in case it's needed. Like I said, it seemed to be high quality all around and I had no qualms about using it. Slightly different ergonomics drove me nuts, but I'm picky.
