Rear axle nut size on '80 GS1100E?

I have some really nice tools but no open-end wrenches large enough for the rear axle nut on my '80 GS110E. In the past, I've always used a large, Crescent style wrench but I want to add a wrench to my collection that's the right size. I think it must be 24mm....but maybe it's 23mm. I can't tell by the Suzuki code number so thought I'd ask the experts. Thanks, guys!!

Why don't you just measure it and know exactly what size to go and buy? Not sure what your tool stores are but you probably could order one if all else fails. I have a set of 1/2" drive sockets that one would surely fit.

To actually answer the damn question...

        It takes a 24mm wrench.

A 15/16" wrench works fine, too.

Thank you, Brian! In the 'old days', there would have been about 6 or 7 "24mm" responses in rapid succession but things have changed over the years. (By the way, Jim, I have the calipers you mentioned. Hopefully, others will see your post.)

The nut on my 1100 is 1 1/4 . I didn't like the wimpy chain tensioners and axle nut that came stock so I made some heavy duty replacements.
