What is going on with my brakes?

Replaced my lever and master cylinder/lever with an ebay special (I know). Took awhile to bleed but I got the job done and was able to enjoy riding the end of the good weather here in PA. About a week ago I was walking past the old GS in the garage when I noticed the brake line was pinched at an awkward angle and had moisture building up on the hose. Any ideas?

Is that "moisture" brake fluid? I'm thinking its a cheap rubber hose and the fliud damaged / softened it. It would explain the sudden kink also.

I believe it is brake fluid almost sweating out, no obvious holes or cracks. If I was to replace just the hose what kind should I be looking for? (what kind isn't going to collapse on itself)

I think I'd be looking for a combined reservoir/master cylinder in order to eliminate the hose completely.

The first thing that came to mind for me was... If they used the wrong material on that hose, I wonder what they used on the inside???

Do you know what brand the M/C is? I'm looking for one differently configured from my stock one, and don't want that one.....
Im going to try the route of a different OEM unit.

I am going to go with this explanation.

Most sport bikes use a remote reservoir like the one shown in OP these days. If you can find the size you need (5/8" bore for most double caliper set ups on GS's) there should be dozens to choose from on fleabay.

                        For instance: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1996-Suzuki-G...dYCNKd&vxp=mtr

A question for OP: in the first picture you posted is your brake line cracked where it emerges from the banjo bolt cover?

Not sure of brand name but they are these turds: http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-8-Universa...ui5Pew&vxp=mtr

Not sure if that was the actual seller or not but they are a dime a dozen on there. I've seen them used on a lot of UJM builds, thought they looked neat and didn't see any bad reviews. Oh well, lesson learned I guess.

Yes the outer rubber is cracking in places but the steel braiding inside is all intact. New lines will be going on before spring.

Think the name of the seller sums it up "Topfashion2000" sells more woman's stuff than bike stuff.
as said before get a combined master cylinder and reservoir, junk the chinnese stuff.
What was wrong with your original master cylinder?
