Correct tire size - '80 GS850L
Just bought the bike; first night on the forum. If someone can point me to front tire size clarification for '80 GS850L. Specs say 3.5, which equates I believe to a 90/90-19, but I swore I saw a thread here that said 100/90-19 was the correct size.

Use the 100. 90 is too skinnyEd

Agreed. 100/90-19 up front.
I think in 1980 the GL used a 17" rear, so you want a 130/90-17 out back.
Later GL models used a 16" rear, 130/90-16.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

Correct on all accounts.
Further clarification: yes, the 90/90 is the "more-correct" translation of the original size, but the 100/90 works very well and it also minimizes the usual speedometer error.Comment
