DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

About same here. TOday about 25 degF colder than 2 days ago.

Nice pose. Nice image.
Looks like a calm scene.

THe two overhead lights, red.... railroad crossing.....?
But if that is a train in the crossing, then, not such a quite calm scene.

Earlier this week I took some vacation days and spent them with Joe Nardy in the Smoky Mountains. alke46 even joined us for a day. What a great place to ride. So many curvy mountain roads. As usual, I didn't take many pictures. But, here are the ones I did take:

At one point we stopped for lunch at Deal's Gap Resort. The restaurant ceiling is covered in t-shirts from all over the place. Joe mentioned that there is a GSR shirt up there somewhere. He found it and pointed it out to me. Looks like it's been up there since 2005. Don't know if you can see it, but it's covered in signatures. Is your signature up there?

Here's a picture of my bike parked alongside Joe's in his garage, and my 2 favorite Killboy pictures on 129 over the mountain.

And, for something unusually different, we did a touristy thing and visited Clingman's Dome. It's the highest point in Tennessee. To get there we suffered through heavy, slow traffic, and hiked half a mile to the observation deck. The hike clearly demonstrated how out of shape I am. But we were rewarded with amazing views at the top. You can see 100 miles in any direction. Absolutely lovely.

Visting with Joe is always a good time and the roads around his home are a real motorcycle playground. Can't wait to go back.

I didn't know you bought a GT....how are you liking it?

I didn't know you bought a GT....how are you liking it?

Bought it about this time last year. Put 10k miles on since then. I really like it. The power is addictive, and it handles pretty well. Still working some ergonomics issues (seat, handlebars, windscreen, etc.) but nothing that's a showstopper. Biggest problem I have is how fast it goes through tires. I'm only getting about 3300 miles out of a set of Dunlop Roadsmart 3s. Probably has something to do with my right wrist and the traction control setting.

When I took it to the Brown County GS rally this year, people asked me if I bought it from you!

Brisk afternoon ride to one of my favorite mountain vistas. Loving heated grips and seat. :dancing:

Lol....that's funny. :)
I sold mine as you maybe know....I put 32,616kms on it in 12 months....lots I liked but somethings I just could get over...
Vibration at 5000rpm (120kmph)...it's a sweet spot for riding for me so that was annoying
The hot start rattle drove me crazy
Paint was peeling off the front rim
MySpin is garbage

But I did like riding it but no regrets so far selling it to buy the VFR1200F

Cheers

50degF, Sunday, and looking like best day for next week or so…….so got liner back in pants and jacket. Heavy cloud cover like could rain.

Rode up to Muskegon, stopped by the lakeshore near beach for a pic.

IMG_7191ac.jpg

THen headed to the river channel, maybe get some pics of arrival of lake freighter (HCJackson, 689ft)

Got there, and it started raining, latch on side bag broke - DOAH- so could not open the sidebag, could not get out rain gear.

Ship was at least another 45 minutes or hour out yet.

So retreated home.

Olympia jacket and pants repelled the rain okay, gloves did not.

Had a few days recently that were 40/50s and rainey.
And a few days in 50s or low 60s, so did get out on those days.
Sometimes looking for occassional fall color tree.

And saw a couple lake freighters going thru the piers/channel

Both of these 600+ feet.

Congrats on the new bike Rich! I saw you had posted a few pics on FB as well.

Thanks Grisha. Still haven't given up on the GS, though. Starting working on the head this week. Don't forget, I still owe you and Vanya lunch at Kavkaz next time you're in central PA. Forest roads were a bit greasy this past weekend after the rain.

Hi Redman, we had them jammed in there and makes it difficult to see them all, like the one in the top right of the pic. There are 14 vintage 1100 Kats in the pic. Kounting Kats is good sport I think.

Cheers

The weather and leaves up here have been fantastic this week. The summer drought and recent heavy rains made for some colors that were amazing. Got in over 950 miles this on the Versys and the Wing. Still dont know how to post a picture on here, sorry

Took a spin out to Gallup today. 150 mile roundtrip. Had a great burger, a super solid New Mexico IPA, and listened to the new Stones album twice on the ride.

Posted pics on the Harley forum, but this one needs them resized or filtered in through some photo platform, so ...
