A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Tell me I am nuts or not.

The valves sit easily into the pocket in the piston. Could I add a spacer or a thick base gasket to drop the CR? I've got an RC Engineering block that is either 75mm & six pistons - Unfortunately, I have two sets of three and they aren't the same weight. One on the right is a JE & I have no...

Here's the side by side of the pistons. Billy, you are correct that the ex valve is noticeably lighter than a stock valve. Actually, the intake valve is lighter as well & 1-2mm larger

I'll get a side by side shot of the piston & check the EX valve weight. The head does have a V&H tag. The carb boots that were on the head had been shaped to fit each intake port and the diameter at the carb mounts was about 41mm. They are dried and cracked though.

Blower, you almost had me convinced a couple years ago, but this isn't really about the HP.

So, first, a long time away from the GS world as a now 2.5yr old son makes me appreciate time on a bike rather than playing in the garage. I think though, I am at the point of a well deserved project - one that I basically shelved a couple years back. The past few years, I've managed to...

    1978 GS1000 Conversion

Throttle bodies from a KZ1100 (GPZ) will get you started. Get the ones that had the injector in the TB, not a set where the put the injector in the head. You can get modern injectors that fit, but I forget which ones now.

    Riding in North Alabama

http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Alabama_76.html I'm in AL often for work (unfortunately by car), but I've run across many roads travelling between Ft Payne, Gasden, Cullman and over toward Decatur that would have been great rides. For that matter, head up toward TN and take hwy 56...
