A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Happy birthday Glen. Hope things are going well for you and your family.

Hey Glen. I appreciate the message and your input in my thread(s). I'm getting closer to getting the bike sorted and on the road. As mentioned I picked it up for not a lot of money but I was actually looking for a naked GS1150 (is that an 'E' ?) as I want to attached a sidecar. But I'll finish this bike up and see how I like it. I keep trying to post progress but I wonder if anyone really cares that I'm making it stock? A lot of others post pics of some modification etc not just putting a stock bike back together. lol. Cheers, Bruce

Hey man thanks. There is a lot to do on the bike but it should all be worth it. I'm probably going to keep the stock exhaust but i have sen the stock in a chrome finish and i like the look of that.

    WOW!!!!
Yup, that's my '86 GS1150, exactly as I bought it from Tyson, the previous owner. :D
In this picture, it has a stock front end, but the wheel is from an '83.
As for the tail light, I don't have a clue what it's off of. :o

I'm running a '92 GSXR 750 front end/wheel up front now, as well as a
5 1/2" wde rear wheel from the same GSXR
Thanks for the link, I had no idea my 'ol pile made it into a magazine.
Hey DB, I friend requested you because of some of your posts in related threads and because your 1150ES is totally cool! I am not a big show guy either, but I ride to every event that I go to. The GP is nice for a racing destination if you like all types of bikes and the smell of race fuel. The Vintage Bike scene is something new I started being more aware of in the last year with my Buffalo. Although I have attended Mid-ohio AMA vintage races for the last 20 years. I really like your Blue and White 1150ES and am currently talking to a seller about one. I have had plenty of chances to own one over the years but never a blue and white one. Anyway, good to meet you. -Sean

Yeah, I guess I going to take it home.
I wanted a red 1982 GS750E back when they were new but that never happened and I just can't see letting this one deteriorate any further. My friend is the original owner so I can trust what he tells me and with only 8,800 miles on it, I'll enjoy it for many years to come if I restore it correctly.

    Hi,

It refers to "Not Of This World". See John 8:23 and John 18:36.

The kingdom of the Lord is not of this world. The citizens of that kingdom, followers of Jesus, no longer belong to this world either. Everything in this world will go away, burn up, or we will leave it behind. Everything unseen, as in the future kingdom, is eternal and we will enjoy our inheritance there forever.

I know it all sounds supernatural. That's because it is! But it is real.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2nd Corinthians 4:16-18

    Be blessed.

Hey thanks for the note! I was really just looking to get a rear that didn't have grooves in it from the PO letting pads go down too far, but the thickness is OK so the new pads just bed in to the grooves and it stops fine. Eventually I'll have to do something though. Thanks again!
You're bike is clean...and you've had it a long time. I enjoyed reading the narratives from each of your pictures. Thanks for viewing my reply post and commenting on the sample pic.
Thanks, the es photographs well enough, but has a fair amount of scars when seen in person...
Id love to make it to Mid Ohio some day. Nice to meet you as well.
Thanks, its decent and photograhs reasonably well. Up close its not as nice. But i still dig it despite its lumps and bumps. I occassionally have to remind myself that its nearly 30 years old.
