A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Help me decide upon a windscreen for my '83 1100E

Al, I once owned an eerily similar 1100E. I used a Slipstreamer Spitfire windshield for longer trips. It worked well to divert some of the wind blast. It was easy to install or remove and had a decent amount of adjustment to tune the flow. I agree with others that the 1100E looks better...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

GBW came out my way Saturday morning and we did a 190 mile loop from Tellico Plains back to our place. The route was Cherahola Skyway to 129 south in Robbinsville to 19/74 to Wayah Road to 28 north to 129 (Deal's Gap) to Foothills Parkway then down from the parkway through some small country...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Yes, we had a couple great days of riding. Thanks to Greg for getting me out. Due to a lot of pesky life stuff going on I have been doing very little riding lately. Despite being the Thursday and Friday before the Fourth of July weekend traffic was surprisingly light. Roads were a bit damp but...

Welp, not a good end to the day.

Greg, I just heard about this today. Such a shame for both you and the bike. I would much rather destroy a brand new bike than a nice vintage one. You can just go out and buy another new one, vintage bukes are gone forever. Hopefully you'll be able to provide some parts to others that will help...

I had a taste, sort of...

Joe, You may want to check with the training or track day provider as well as your insurance company. Some insurance companies consider SOME training and/or track events as rider training so you may be covered in case of a mishap. You might even get a discount on your insurance for haven taken...

I had a taste, sort of...

Joe, By all means do a track day. I did my first track day at Keith Code's California Superbike School in the mid-80's. I was young, fearless, and a pretty good rider. The school followed a weekend of AMA racing at the old Loudon Raceway in New Hampshire and my lap times on a Ninja 600 would...

    Where is Joe Nardy? or...

Not me.......I do okay when both wheels are on the ground but have never been good at jumps or wheelies. The link is from the new 'On Any Sunday - The Next Chapter' film that Cathy and I just saw this weekend. Robbie Maddison may seem like a raving lunatic but he is actually a very calculating...

It's good work if you can get it!

Garth, The museum is the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley North Carolina. The owner, Dale Walksler, is a great guy with an unbelievable knowledge of American motorcycles. He has a show on the Velocity channel named What's in the Barn. The hotel where we park under the entrance way is...

It's good work if you can get it!

Rob, The kissing pigs pic was taken by Cathy (actually ALL the pics were taken by Cathy, except for the pics with her in them and I don't know who took those) at a place named the Bar-B-Q Ranch in Harrisonburg Virginia. We always stop there on this tour. They collect all kinds of pig dolls...

It's good work if you can get it!

We got home from the tour around 7pm tonight. The tour went great despite marginal weather and the deaths of two tour members' parents during the tour. We had an awesome time reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. The riding was great and the colors were pretty good. We received a...

Thanks Greg. Signature has been updated to reflect Jon's Dorsoduro....... I'm taking a notebook PC so I might check in and post an update or two but I may be too busy enjoying the trip. I'll definitely update this thread after the tour. Joe
