All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Do you still own a GS?

Currently have a 1000G (not quite finished refurbishment). Had a '78 750 E in the past.

I found NOS points cover and emblem and gasket

I've changed as a large amount of the factory fasteners with stainless allen heads. Then I read that stainless bolts don't work well with alloy engine parts. That freaked me out a little, so I pulled them one by one and put a light smear of antiseaze on each bolt. Am I being paranoid here or...

Hi and Welcome to the forum - where are you from? With reference to the "the rotor", do you mean the charging stator? Upload some pics when time permits.

    Rear disc rotor 1980 GS850G

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong for this particular year and model. I thought the original factory Suzuki rotors were solid, non vented discs that have a minimum thickness of 6mm. When the later vented rotors became the norm, I'm fairly sure the minimum thickness is 4.5mm. Do your...

Hanging Idle (I know, but bear with me) and different carbs

Take one of the air intake manifolds off and take a look at the manifold to cylinder head face of the manifold. The O-Rings will be at this location. If they are cracked or flat they will allow air to pass into the fuel/air mixture on the engine side of the carbs. This is a common problem. If...

Old riding buddy gave me this.

G'Day and Welcome from Melbourne Australia. Gifting a classic bike is just never heard of over here, that's a great buddy of yours. Nowadays keeping a classic bike as close to stock gives it way more value than big mods. But I acknowledge personalising also has it benifits. Cheers

The most impactful news of our lifetime

I watched this YouTube vid recently. Cyrus is correct that this subject is getting no main stream coverage. I believe it's something to keep an eye on as it is going to affect any country that trades in U.S. dollars. Here in Australia we regularly hear media stories about those 'bad' countries...

    Bad Gas!

Interesting you wrote "first drained it was the sugary looking layer" From a Google search -- "E10 fuel is a mixture of 10% ethanol and 90% petrol, with the ethanol being a biofuel produced from the fermentation of sugars and starches found in crops like sugarcane and grains. Sugarcane is a...
