A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    We are finally there!

kinda lol i have one 1100 roller, 4 750 frames, and a 750 with a b12 that needs a bit of work to be roadworthy, all of those are slabs, and then an 89 750 frame that i will probably build up first. as far as motors go i should have enough setups to make 4 1100ish motors, i have a bunch of...

THIS one will be kept stock, but the oil-cooled gsxrs i have waiting to be built will not be.

    We are finally there!

Hey everyone, not sure how many members that were on here a few years ago still are. Long story short I had a gs650gl that I decided to rebuild and do a bigbore kit to make faster, 2 years later I finally finished it and decided to keep the motor stock as its never going to be as fast as I...

    Gs1100e or katana 1100 motor

Okay so, have a 1983 gs1100e, picked up for good price as project, now it's ready to go and selling it. So from what I know the difference of the gsx and the katana motor is the conrods and you simply find the number that's on them, forget what number is but I'd need a dental mirror and pull...

    Setting the timing properly

just an update, i thought i was finshed the other day because i was able to get the right amount of clearance on all cylinders for there to be a mm of space between the piston and chamber at its closest point with the headgasket, but i put 20cc of water in the chambers and put the piston in...

    Setting the timing properly

Okay well I'm definitely going through with this kit, 1 and 4 are done but they are not done smoothly, will either smooth it out or weld some metal on them and refine to get a better shape. I actually found a method to this madness for 2 and 3 and they should come out alot better. I even made a...

    Setting the timing properly

I think it'll be much more manageable than getting these pistons to work, but I'm gonna go ahead and see it the whole way through. Also, I found the kit for $60 on a website......I paid close to $200......the item is no longer available on their ebay so i cant leave a review.

    Setting the timing properly

Update, I think I have one single cylinder done, gonna have to work on the other one in the same crank rotation to make sure it is, the amount of metal I have to take out is pretty wild, I even have to take some out around the valve on the surface of the head. I'll put it this way, if the...

    Setting the timing properly

Okay so, here is what I am doing. I understand that im not doing it as proper as I could be by any means, but I'm still gonna do it, my ignorance is probably the best way I learn things. okay so how I am doing it is right now I'm using playdoh and putting on the piston heads, getting the...

    Setting the timing properly

i mean its either go back to stock which i will not be satisfied with or do some sort of machining to get these pistons to work. i could take out part of the pistons but since these are already aftermarket and we haven't had somebody really put them to the test, that could really make them a...

    Setting the timing properly

That was my thinking aswell, if I put a larger gasket it'd be the easiest solution but then my compression ratio would presumably be lower as the spacing between the pistons and valves would be larger, and in a sense make this bore kit pointless. The idea is to take out metal from the cylinder...

    Setting the timing properly

Well I'd have to get another pair of cylinders lol as they are already bored out. there's a note on the site saying that these are a different design so I think they are designed to have the head machined. We will see what happens, still thinking and deciding what I'll do aswell as taking...

    Setting the timing properly

Well the plan was to take off of the head as thinning the pistons would make them a much weaker area, I also learned that 750 pistons wouldn't fit properly either because of the layout in the 650 head, what I'm going to have to check is if the spark plugs would interfere at all because it'd be...
