A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

79 GS11L Winterized 10 years ago in Los Angeles, I need full safety inspection and restart prep help for mobility challenged mech/tech engineer.

There are a few LA-based members around that may be able to help you get the bike running again. Where specifically are you located, and what needs to be done to the bike?

Is there a thread specific to mechanics on wheels? I want to know my bike, to do that trust by inspection, knowng intimately the history of all services performed. Parts I can can order, wrenches I can twist, a remove and replace rebuild I can handle in house from cams & rings to carbs & spark. I need a third hand with tools & a brain attached. I want to keep the bike all original and on the lot.

EVERY mechanic who prevents me from keeping a eagle-eye on the shops work has burned me, ovèrcharging for half assed repairs and sub-standard parts. Wary of the dealer thieves who stole my tank and carbs on̈ my Suzi1K when all I wanted was soak the varnish off the bowl bottoms. This bike was drained and blown out by a pro for storage. Calpers work but I don't trust the brake fluid. no rot on tires with deep tread but date code vintage. broken switch hanging under throttle grip is the most obvious defect. I also want to ensure the shaft lube makes gears greased and not blocked by bearing race permaseal mfg. error.

But I also need help attaching the dipstick tube on my RAM2500 and removing replace power steering hoses on my tradseman B300 van, which might need a new Saginaw pump.
Mostly I need an honest and dependable chichanic to make sure my putter is daily duty safe near 605&South St.
What thread for that?
