    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've been to Ludington a couple of times, taking the ferry across the lake from Wisconsin. Nice way to eliminate the Chicago traffic between the 2 states.
 
Thursday night out for an after dinner ride on the peninsula....a buddy from Whidbey Island in Washington came up for the Friday afternoon safety meeting on his awesome 74 Honda 750


 
I went for a ride on my 1985 Honda CB650SC last weekend and stopped for a coffee at Tim Hortons in Milton Ontario. There was another Old Guy on a Yamaha FJR1300 and we struck up a conversation re-old bikes from our past. He complimented my NightHawk and told me a friend of his from Highschool had bought his first bike, a 1983 Suzuki GS750E from his neighbour. The friend moved to Victoria BC and has some really nice vintage machines, including a Wes Cooley replica. I asked “is his name Trevor?” Yes and he’s a really nice guy!
How can it be two strangers end up in small town Canada and talk about Trevor from GS Resources?IMG_5313.jpeg

Lol....that's pretty funny...but I bought the 1983 GS750E brand new in March 1984....maybe I sold it to Jeff's neighbour. :)
Me back in the day....shortly after bringing it home.
 
After a few months of "hibernation" during our winter, the weather is changing for the better, so I ventured out for a ride near the lagoon where it flows into the sea at Walker Bay, Hermanus, South Africa. During this time of the year, Southern Right Whales are often seen in Walker Bay where they give birth to their young calves.

It's the clipons, they lowered the front end by 40mm. I also installed .9 Sonic Springs, Tarozzi fork brace, Hagon rear shocks. The bike handles so much better with the front lowered. I did all this back in 2015.
 
Weekend ride with Justin Redmanson (that some of you have meet at BC some years) and Jay RedmanSIL (BC once).

I took most all day to ride up to Petoskey (a little over 200 miles if go direct) Friday. But I took the scenic route including some of M-22.
THey both said they had some something going on thst day such that they could not get away untill the afternoon, um, er, ..... oh, now I remember, they had to work. Now I remember what that was like. THey blasted up there in the afternoon, and we meet there.

I'll not get into a full ride report. We did have multiple adventure following Justins "adventure" routing on his GPS (google?).

But here are some pics, with some description.

UL: Stayed at an AirBnB mobile home.

Pic is Right before I notice my rear tire is almost complely flat. Could not find any thing of a puncture. But then did notice the 90degree adapter on the valve stem was loose, (maybe I had knocked it some washing bike the other day). Tightened that up. Mr IronButt Justin had a pump, so pumped up the tire, to save my weekend. ANd we were underway with only about a 15 minute delay. (Did check it a couple times during the day.)

LL: At M-119 Tunnel Of Trees. We knew was sections had been washed out due to heavy rains this spring and two large detours. But Justin says some old man told him that "Road Closed Ahead. No Thru traffic" signs/barricdes means "about no traffic". So we went around the barricade, and went as far as could go untill the actaul constrction area. Yep, was about no traffic, when in other times would be lots of tourist vacationers and campers. But we had the curvey road, with woods, and lake views, and trees rght next to the road. ANd then we got to ride back, and then took the detour.
Note: see all the wider the road is. And no real shoulder, many places the trees are closer to the pavement.

RU: Within sight of Mackinac Bridge.
Was my first time to RIDE across the bridge. Going across we stayed on the concrete lane. Comming back, later, we said we were all gonna ride on the grating lane. And we did. Was intersting to look down, thru grating, the 200 feet to the water. It was a bit windy, so a good amount of shimmying around that required a good amount attention. About half way, I slowly worked my way over to change on to the concrete lane. Then I felt better and allowed myself to look around.

RL: Rode around on UP side . US2 west aways. Stopped at this long awaited pastie stand, the stated destination of the trip. Was great. Also stopped at CutRiver Bridge, interesting. Went further west, then turned somewhat north east Following Justins adventure routing to Trout Lake, and then somewhat south back to the bridge. So our UP adventure was about 4 hours, before back to the bridge.

Ride home Sunday wasn't too direct either.

I had 764 miles on trip. meter.

Greatley enjoyed the weekend. Am thankfull that I could do this with these guys.
Was tireing. But I didnt need to be anywhere, nor do anything Monday, so I didnt.

Note: I did buy a pump and a puncture repair kit, sometime last year. I think they are on a shelf in the garage. I should look into that.
