A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Rich, thanks for posting the pics of the swap meet. It served as a reminder as to why I avoid those $h!t shows. Aarh.......

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

No riding here today, temps stayed mostly in the mid 20's. Got a real cold spell going on in a large part of the country for the next few days.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

While enjoying record high temps here today, I went out for a ride and found something that instantly took me back to the mid fifties. I shortened my ride after finding this fine piece of machinery due to the 20-30 mph winds. I remember my dad using this same set up only with the next size...

1100G (GK) running rough, sharp stutter

Dave, where you live do you have the opportunity to use pure gas? Non ethanol? I would assume if you have this choice, you probably use it.

Thanks Dave. I'm working on the selfies but as I said, the subject matter is low on the scale. At least on mine. Yeah I had some great weather on this trip. Got in 2,013 miles on the Triumph. But one morning I was leaving Clarksville Tn. heading up to Ind. and the outside temp was 39...

    Help! Carburetor/fuel mixture problem (I think) 1979 GS1000

You should do NOTHING until you have checked the valve clearance. You say you cleaned the carbs but did you do it properly? Did you dip them for 24 hours in Berrymans carb dip? You need to look up forum member Nessism and read his newbies mistakes before you go much further. A lot needs to...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

My last day in the Ozarks. Quite windy again but 81 degrees so I'll take it. Fall foliage is excellent this time around. IMG_20221023_120845271_HDR by Larry Alkire, on Flickr IMG_20221023_120552415 by Larry Alkire, on Flickr

I knew I was violating the rules as I often do with the bike, but geez, I didn't expect to get called out on it.

    Brakes not building pressure

I totally agree with this statement, but when I had to replace some caliper parts from a Brembo supplier, he stated I should use the "Brembo" paste that goes with the rubber seals. I told him I would stick with the proven brake fluid.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

I took a ride of sorts, ok it technically doesn't count as my bike was actually strapped into the truck bed. I just wanted to show you all where I originated. This is warren county Indiana state hwy 63. Sort of a tunnel of trees like Dave (Redman) has in Michigan. IMG_20221020_142713060_HDR...

Matching tubes to tires ... or not

Totally agree with Grimly. 32/36. Use this setup before going out on a ride long enough to heat the tires up. Then check them and you should be at 35/39 or maybe 35/40. That's the 10 percent rule. Should have you real close.

How does that thing not sink into the sand? Surely must be some kind of hard surface under the sand, right? Or did you just photo shop that pic?

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

This Larry agrees with ^^^^that Larry. The older Goldwings come up for sale quite often and are very affordable. I only owned 1 honda in my life and I had a real love/hate relationship with it. I loved the fact it never needed anything more than routine oil and filter changes. But, the hate...

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

Yeah, that's what BMW stands for. Bring More Wallet. They are extremely proud of their parts and don't even get me started on the helpful guys of the BMW forum. Not going to say which forum as there are many. Maybe even some of them are like real humans. Good choice Dave and way to do your...
