A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    This will be interesting.......

Snow in the South is like being out on the road for amateur night (New Year's Eve) but once you're down in these parts where on normal days the line in the middle of the road is just kind of a suggestion and those pretty blinking lights on the back of the car are only used at Christmas to make...

    This will be interesting.......

Having lived the majority of my adult life in the snow belt of Northwest Lower Michigan I kinda grin at the idea of a few inches of snow closing down entire sections of the country. Then again, considering the driving habits common to areas south of the mason-dixon line I can easily see how this...

Is my search box gone or did just forget where it was

It's a conspiracy, planned and executed by the same people that would lead us to believe that it was Beavers, not humans that built most of the dams in the TVA flood control and hydroelectric system. Here's the secret, if you click the three bars on the upper left hand of the page you'll enter...

    RIP Bob Weir

Saw Bob Weir with Kingfish in Nevada when Jerry was recovering from a diabetic coma in 86 and was fortunate to see the Dead together a couple of times in 87 when this album was released. RIP Bob https://youtu.be/NFSSqCxXpGg?si=gGTnN2AKm_n-oa9t

I've fallen in love with a 24 yr old

That's a pretty sly way to call me a neurotic little girl, sounds like something I'd come up with for use in The Vortex.

I've fallen in love with a 24 yr old

What I'd been looking for was something along the lines of a sport tourer not wanting to go to the sloth like nature of my former Goldwing. It's bigger than what I had been considering but after reading up it's still considerably lighter than a Goldwing and believe it or not only 50 lbs heavier...

    Well, how about that?

Personally I don't think it takes a scientist to bake a good Danish, there's plenty of good bakeries out there with just plain hard working class stiffs doing the work!

I've fallen in love with a 24 yr old

I'm assuming so since the Michelin Commander III's on it have date codes less than two years old. Haven't gotten too deep into that aspect of it yet BUT the tires on there now are the "cruiser" as opposed to the "touring" version of that tire. They're rather "pointy" and keeping a straight line...

I've fallen in love with a 24 yr old

It has about the same amount of room in the bags as the Vetter branded bags on the XS, also the same looking lids that my Goldwing had. The trunk is a bit bigger.

I've fallen in love with a 24 yr old

My outlook the last several years has been to not get too interested in women who aren't as least as old as my bike. Having grown tired of dating angry old hags I decided a change was in order The 1980 Yamaha XS1100 I've been running around on was getting long in the tooth, add to that the...

The END is near (California guys)

The thing that kills any old chainsaw I've ever worked on is the seals, once those dry out from lack of use it's cheaper to buy another saw as opposed to the parts to fix the one you have.

    Do you know Theia?

The subject is "old hat" for me since I was involved in earth science back in the 80's. As to comparisons, in this case using Einstein as a reference point would be akin to holding Mel Brooks as an equivalent to Moses, at least when it comes to knowledge anyway.

    Rockauto is not BS!

Rock Auto is on par with JB Weld and Marvel Mystery Oil in it's importance for the shade tree mechanic.

Maybe the most "cobbled-together" bike I have ever purchased!

Considering how the condition of the bike was when you started some duct tape, zip ties and JB Weld is all you REALLY need to make that work.

Gonna check out a Laverda 3C (1L triple) tomorrow. Excited.

Parts availability and prices would scare me off from the get go but I haven't looked into it either. Some would say similar things about an old bike made by "The big four" but as we know it's not huge issue.

    Facts

Too bad I don't have an instagram account or that video would be massively shared! BTW I always thought Instagram was a quick delivery service for small amounts of marijuana or perhaps cocaine.
