A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

what to do with the orange, orange/green wires on SH775 install?

Thanks. I'm open to suggestions, and shall downsize the fuse at your recommendation. I've read your excellent charging system health but again, as a electrical newbie, there is so much information to digest that it can become difficult to choose the correct path (pardon the electrical pun). The...

what to do with the orange, orange/green wires on SH775 install?

Hi folks, I'm trying to connect a new SH775 in place of an old (and I think non-stock RR, it has black green and red wires in addition to the stator yellows, and seems bigger than a 'zuk unit). The question I have is thus: The black (ground) wire comes out of the R/R and connects to orange and...

    GS Charging System Health

Thank you guys for the thorough walkthrough. I am a horrible auto electrician, excelling at letting the blue smoke out, but not so good at getting it back in. This resource will definitely help get my GS running right. Cheers!

    GS1000 fork seals

A quick update, I did this over the last few days. I didn't need the special tool on my GS1000 forks. I used an impact wrench and it spun right out. Good stuff. I also tried the air pressure trick, and it's worth noting that over 100 PSI failed to pop the seals out on my bike, even over several...

    GS1000 fork seals

Great advice here, looking forward to diving into this project myself this weekend. Question, does just the centerstand and leaning the bike back get it up high enough to pull the forks out?

    GS rear fairing compatibility

Hi folks, I have an 1980 gs1000. I much prefer the look of the rear fairing on the 1977 GS550E I've also got, and am fairly inclined to order one off of ebay, paint it to match, and whack it on. I anticipate that it fits, as it seems the early GS's are like lego in terms of compatibility, but...

    GS550 handlebar specs

Hi folks, I'm looking to change up the bars on my '77 GS550. Not keen to go as low as clubmans, but I need something lower than the stock bars, which are practically apehangers! Superbike bars, maybe? Or drag bars? Anyway, I am hoping some old pro here might be able to help me out with some...
