    Front brake pad replacements

Great!!! I think that's exactly the problem I found. The piston with the gaskets were replaced, after cleaning the pump and without adding grease to the seat, maybe it's the gasket that isn't working properly. The pads and gaskets have traveled maybe 1000 mi

    Front brake pad replacements

in fact I want to go back to the normal pads, unfortunately the original ones are no longer available. Yes I still have to insist on the air, I will try your method, is it possible that a bubble makes the lever move halfway through the stroke, - it almost hits the fingers - without losing any...

    Front brake pad replacements

Hello everyone! I replaced the old front pads of the GS1000G with a compatible but Carbon Ceramic one. I replaced the entire cylinder of the oil pump, purge everything. The braking is long and the lever almost reaches the bottom, I don't like it!. Even the rear wheel doesn't actually brake well...

    GS100G clutch

I finally managed to try the new clutch, I'd say perfect! I should have listened to those who recommended the OEM springs, these reinforced ones from Louis seem a bit hard, let's hope because they're new.

    GS100G clutch

Rainy day and bike under the cover, as soon as the weather improves I replace a plastic elbow of the car's turbine. By now I was in the game and I throw myself on the bike, all the spare parts are there. I remove the oil and find it very liquid, evidently the commercial synthetic is not good for...

    GS100G clutch

even though it is not so used, certainly the years play an important role and once dismantled, it is advisable to renew the clutch discs and springs regardless. In the end I purchased 9 OEM clutch discs, I wanted to ruin myself

    GS100G clutch

even though it is not so exploited, certainly the years play an important role and once dismantled, it is worth renewing the clutch discs regardless, what do I do, take the original ones or do you have any advice on equally valid spare parts, at obviously lower costs? thanks

    GS100G clutch

I will definitely get 9 new clutch discs, I just wanted to see them first. I also wanted to see how the steel discs are before spending more money. Maybe I'll find out that it was simply the oil and the package is still perfect and I'll save something! It already happened with the little sister...

    GS100G clutch

I have carefully considered your advice and thank you. I decided to first evaluate the actual conditions of the elements and then replace with the same OEM ones. Same goes for the oil, out with synthetic and go with mineral. For now I have ordered: TRW Lucas MEF106-6 reinforced springs kit. 4T...

    GS100G clutch

Deep in work! Thanks so much for the many options. In fact it got worse with the castrol synt oil change, it also oozes from the head, I'll remove it immediately and put in an old mineral if I remember correctly a 10-40. Then it's clear if it doesn't improve I'll change everything OEM. Besides...

    GS100G clutch

Greetings to all! with a beautiful season coming, I could not help but think of the little beast GS1000G, which however would need a new clutch, it has 20K km and slips when it gets serious! if you go calmly it still holds. Have any of you had any experiences with alternative spare parts, or do...

    '80 GS1100 Cylinder 2 not firing

Great guide, thanks. I forced the wheel a bit and now it's in neutral position thanks to the spring, I think this is its normal position. Then seeing the guide, the internal piston extends independently, so everything should be ok.

    1980 gs1000g

Mine was also affected by the same problem, everything was solved when I limited the air entry into the carburettors, too much for the OEM set up of the BS34SS, a small leak was enough to completely mess up the carburetor, everything came from a set of sleeves not completely compatible. Then the...

    '80 GS1100 Cylinder 2 not firing

The only thing I haven't done yet is adjusting the valves, which I'll do this winter with the bike stopped and the clutch with springs. I have solved many problems, also thanks to the advice and people available on this forum and I want to thank everyone. The bike is true 40 years old, but only...

    1980 gs1000g

GS1000G Chain tensioner Pardon my ignorance, under the carburetors and cylinders is a caster with a spring that is supposed to push the timing chain tensioner, should this be left free working with its outer spring or blocked with the click that is felt at the end of the stroke? I wouldn't want...

    '80 GS1100 Cylinder 2 not firing

Hello, I also have such a problem, cylinder 1 on ignition delays to warm up, then it seems to go properly, also the bike runs well, even at idle. Carburetors fixed, pipette I cut the wire and put back, spark present. Spark plugs 1 and 2 are white, 3 and 4 hazel, I unscrewed 3 turns the screws to...

    GS 1000 G - It mumbles from 3000 to 4000 rpm

It seems that only the first owner saw these collectors, then no one else and for the G with mikuni BS34SS they are impossible to find, even the codes cannot be found and all those that are around, even if indicated for the G are from the GL , they look identical but are evidently not as...
