A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

First blizzard of the winter headed my way should be here tomorrow so I went for what is possibly the last ride of the year. Added Seafoam to tank then topped it off with fuel ready for winter storage if need be.

Big wiring problem, general 1100 questions

Thanks the bike was sort of finished (there are pics on OSS) but then I tore it all down to paint the frame and rebuild the engine and as it was stripped down an opportune time to convert to Motogadget. I don't think it'll ever be done I've always got new modification ideas popping into my head.

Big wiring problem, general 1100 questions

Trial and error, the m-unit is very forgiving just make sure it's grounded well. With the m-unit only a single wire is required for each function, a ground wire. If you go the Motogadget route it's best to forget almost everything you know about oem wiring, it doesn't go back to the way it was...

Big wiring problem, general 1100 questions

If the engine is free there are three reasons it won't start, fuel, air or spark. If it doesn't even turn over electrical is at the head of the list. If you cant find a replacement wire harness and want an electrical upgrade consider converting to Motogadet's M-Unit.

    Woes of selling things...

"As is", that's good legal advice, someone could come back and claim you lied about the condition.

    Woes of selling things...

My last sales, a 250MT honda I wanted $400 I started it up and got it no haggling, it was well used but ran perfectly there was nothing to haggle over at just $400. And a '76 aw450cr Maico I wanted $3400 and settled for $3K never even had to kick it over, the guy showed up with a trailer and...

    Woes of selling things...

Offer him $300 and ask if he has a working starter so you can do a compression test. Depending on the collectible factor some parts bikes sell for much much more for $500 all I'd expect is a complete bike and not seized, if it fires up it's a bonus.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Definitely power tripping, as there was no else there and no one would be arriving at that late hour, the ranger could've told him it's okay to camp for the night but be gone by morning. It was mistake telling the ranger where they were going next, unlikely police would be out patrolling the...

what did you wrench on today??

Thanks I've grown fond of it I've made it my own and there's little chance of encountering another like it. I didn't know how it would be received by others and certainly wasn't prepared for the crowds of curious bikers it would attract, I find it all a bit embarrassing. :( a photo from last...

what did you wrench on today??

I had no idea where it would end up when I began. I purchased it from my brother for $1, it had been sitting in his shed since 1991. I restored it to oem efe condition over the next two years but then I grew tired of repairing the brittle fairing panels so I planned to convert to a naked ride...

what did you wrench on today??

This is what the wiring from an efe looks like when it's unwrapped there's an equal sized 2nd pile to the left, I was all in at this point there was no going back. Yeah I was very intimidated I had know idea where to start.

what did you wrench on today??

The new digital brain in my efe. Quite intimidating when I began but it's so obviously simple now that I'm done.
