    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I like the first shot...it turned into something like a pointillist painting with the amount of noise in the image.

    Throttle lock/ cruise control

I have one of these: https://www.twistedthrottle.ca/go-cruise-2-throttle-device-universal-auminum-black It also comes in a non-adjustable form, but I found it a bit fiddly and it didn't work great on my grips. They are also easy to break if you are mucking about with them and not paying...

    1985 GS550E Oil lines

It's been awhile since I last took it for a spin, but my 550 was not terribly happy putting around in the lower end. Unfortunately, getting it much above 9000 rpm is tough in the city, and our "canyons" are a little too far away for after work riding. It starts to open up in the mid-range...

    1985 GS550E Oil lines

It's worth a shot to try the old lines, but eventually you'll have to find some new ones, or make some up for yourself. A couple of years ago I was able to buy new ones from Partzilla, and I see they stil have them, currently costing $120 for the pair...

    Inverted Highbeam...?

I'd be curious to see where the low beam is actually pointing. It could be spreading nicely, but aimed way too high. If that is the case, then the light (or bulb) is upside down, and you could just ignore the writing on the lens.

    Inverted Highbeam...?

I'm having a hard time imagining anything other than this, or a poorly designed reflector...

Place to get my gs650e restored?

Just take it one step at a time. You're starting off with a bike that has good bones, so follow the steps. Make it safe and reliable first, then make it look pretty. There is plenty of work you can do to it without taking it to a shop. The only real difficulty would be if you didn't have space...

    83 GS650G body decals

I still have the raw decals from BDesigns I haven't got around to using sitting in a box in storage, but I was quite happy with the ones that did get applied.

It looks like Trevor has the early lead, but I'll put some gas in Kerrfunk's tank...

    Pic of the week game

Uh...tough call for me on this one. Sandy, Dorkburger, Kerrfunk and Jedz all scream out to me, but in the end I'm most swayed by the composition and presence of the Appalachian Mountain peak in Jedz' shot.

    Pic of the week game

Hey Trev, cool shot, but I can't picture what you must have climbed to get that perspective? Just a large pile of gravel?

    Everett Powersports in WA.

You're not the first to recommend Everett PS. I've dealt with them once before, a long time ago, but I believe it was through their EBay store. The lack of the basic parts and pricing information on the website is a bit of deal-breaker for me, especially if I was getting ready for a huge order...
