DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Totally agree !!!

    For the dedicated gearheads,

Too much to remember, always seemed redundant, for a yr. or 2 in the late 60's, Ford produced the 427, 428, and 429 in the same yr.

    For the dedicated gearheads,

Too much to remember... The old L88 427 rated at 430 HP from Chevy. From what I've read they were intentionally under rated and actual numbers from dyno tests show they all made 500 + and most nearer to to 550 HP... Kind'f weak compared to today's 800 HP V-8's

    For the dedicated gearheads,

Totally agree, any small block Chevy, no matter its original state, can sure be upgraded to do a whole lot. Rob, did you forget the L84 327, 375HP ? Like you my favorites were also the 302 & 327, nothing wrong with the 350's, just something about the earlier ones

    For the dedicated gearheads,

Sorry pilot, too many pages to read on this dang computer, I missed that page... I did see where Chevy had a 283 cid. in 1960 that made 315 HP, and a 265 cid. that made 225 HP back in 1956.... Back to poking at Rob, my opinion neither the Chevy 305 cid. nor the Chevy 307 cid. will ever be knows...

    1978 Suzuki GS1000 F/B $2400 Hudson WI

Sure look good...static display past 20 yrs... Probably a real nice project for somebody looking for a project... Probably biggest concern, inside of tank, good ones are rare and expensive .. Does look good, don't it?

Is there any blinker relay compatible for my 1981 GS1100?

Not sure but like Xrr, if you got the same current going in & being drawn out of the relay (flasher) it won't know if flashing RH or LH signals... Think your blinkers are grounded through the mounting stud for each blinker. Good luck.

Looking for a Handlebar and Seat for an '80 GS1100E

Aw Shoot Steve, I don't see where you got your welcome, so here it is, WELCOME to the site... Always interesting to see and hear of GS's brought back to life... Hoping we can help.

Is there any blinker relay compatible for my 1981 GS1100?

Not working "properly" ??? not coming on?, coming on not blinking?, comes on but blinks too fast?... Have you changed a bulb on the left side? a bulb that draws more or less current than is designed for can cause not working properly.

Looking for a Handlebar and Seat for an '80 GS1100E

Maybe Suzuki noticed the difference in the cost of 100K decals vs. the cost of 100K metal badges, could have been more of an influence than the looks of the bike... I agree, steve's picture of that side cover does look good, would love to see the rest of the bodywork.

Looking for a Handlebar and Seat for an '80 GS1100E

Suzuki used badges on the "80"' and "81" 1100E tanks and side covers. They started the painted on kind in "82"...If I remember right. Also you may not want the OEM handlebar, they were too tall for many, or probably most, folks and were swapped for lower ones.

    LH Carburetor Body

That lip is much higher than I'd remembered... Totally agree with chuck. gasket surface looks OK.

Yep, welcome and thanks, all these old GS's need to be kept up and running. My opinion, the instruments would be a pretty good tell tail sign of actual "S" or not.

    LH Carburetor Body

Totally agree, but that little lip isn't very deep. That chip, hunk, or hole seems, to me, way deeper than the little lip and pretty deep into the gasket surface... Hopefully I'm wrong.

    LH Carburetor Body

Uh chuck, look at the picture again. Fuel won't just pour out all the time, but won't it leak pretty dang bad, especially if on the side stand? That's the outer edge of the left carb.

    Pic of the week game

Well, guessing voters on here may be a little older than I'd thought...

    For the dedicated gearheads,

Rob, think of this... Strongest Chevy 305 produced was the L69-305, 1983 thru 1987 rated at 190 HP... Same as the 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa also rated at 190 HP.

    Pic of the week game

Well, pretty sure I got'ta vote for Baatfam this week. Great subject matter Bob... I do need to go look at his entry again, just to be sure I picked right.

    For the dedicated gearheads,

"If only we could"... Is there a reason it can't, or shouldn't, be done?
