DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

NICE work Ray ! VERY nice,..on the 1150/1100 head, Someone needs to tell him he will have to use an electric tach if he goes with the 1150 head on the 1100 . Just wanted to throw that out there.

    Carbs leaking fuel

Got the '85 1150 out of storage after a year and the fuel bowls are overflowing , all four. I drained the carbs when it was put in storage. It started great,...just leaks badly. I taped on the bowls but it still pours the fuel. Last year when I got it out of storage only one carb overflowed...

    Gs 1100 ex porting

Width really isnt an issue since the back cut doesnt touch anything like the 45 does. On a complete set you will have some wider than others, and it doesnt hurt anything, it is all good. when you move the seat out to the edge of the valve you can make the bowl larger and it is almost like...

    Gs 1100 ex porting

I have heard of it being done on a lathe,..I personnly have never tried that. I feel it best to have them back cut on a valve refacing machine. The operator can change the angle in an instant to what you desire. Thay will grind the existing angle off at 37 degrees and bring that cut right up...

    Gs 1100 ex porting

Back cutting the valves is always a good idea when you have the valves out. Use some layout dye on the valve seat area on the valves themselves and lap the valves in. You will see the seat contact area very clearly. Take them to a GOOD head shop and have them (intake and Exhaust) back cut to...

Having an issue with the kill switch on my 1981 GS 1100EX . Engine will not turn over with key on while pushing starter button. Bypassed starter selonoid and engine turns over good. It has NO ignition, that was verified, (fire at plug) . I believe the kill switch is 'killing' the ignition...

RealGasket Silicone valve cover gasket info

I too have used the Real Gasket made of siicone. Worked WONDERFUL on my '81 GS1100EX. It had a a drip that would NOT stop. The Real Gasket stopped it Immediately ! But I took if off out of concern for the Tach drive gears. Mine were ok,..But I took great care on installation. I will pick...

    Cam journal wear

As stated above,..you should be ok as long as there are no raised burrs. Small grooves hurt nothing and actually hold oil which is good. you said the cam looked ok so I think you are good. Use a wheel cylinder hone and a variable speed drill with the cap torqued down and turn S L O W L Y ...

    Stock GS1100E compression?

    How fast would you say...

What DOGMA said,.. If 4,000 rpm is 50 mph then 8,000 is 100 mph, and so on.. as long as you are in the same gear. Like he said, the errors would still be included as would be the case on a 150 mph speedo also. Close as can be with a speedo. works in any gear too. Terry

GS750 -77 dies after a while on full throttle

My sons GS750E 16 valve did the same thing. The pet cock 'O' ring on the diaphram shaft (valve) was old and stuck in the hole when diaphram was retracted it didn't and was only allowing a trickle amount of fuel to flow even on prime ..the same. Arround town it was ok but on the road it would...
