A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1230 kit

1230 kits are made for the 1150s. I do not think you will be able to find one with 18mm wrist pins. Your 1100 has 18mm wrist pins and the 1150 has 20mm.
The max bore for the 1100 is 1166 (75mm pistons) and the 1100 is 1230 (77mm pistons).
I put a 1230 Wiseco kit in 1100 cases by putting in an 1150 crank, bored out the 1150 cylinders and added an 1150 clutch basket.
The way to go for you would be an 1166 kit.

Is'nt that what I said???

MTC still has the 1230 pistons with 18mm wrist pins.
I was looking at MTC pistons when I built my 1230. I called them and they said they discontinued the 77mm piston 18mm and 20mm wrist pin.
I just went on their website and they were there just like when I checked several years ago.
Maybe the demand required supply?

I have a set of 18mm pin, CPs that are 77mm making a 1229/1100. MTC & Wiseco & everyone else stopped making STREET compression 18mm pin, 77mm bore pistons. I have a standing order at CP for these 1229, 18mm street pistons. The set I have here has about 300 miles on them & the guy decided to go bigger. Let me know, Ray.

ok so what is the difference in 1229 and 1230 , or just the maker of the pistons set ??

I am looking for a 1230 kit for my 83 GS1100E

There was a guy that posted this same request about three months ago.

Seems that you and he have the same user name.

There have been several comments in the thread in the last three months. Have you read them? :-k

.

I STILL have the set & all you have to do is call me. I can also get your bike running correctly, which I have also told you in the past.
Ray.
