    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    The brass outlets are simply float bowl breathers and should be kept open to atmosphere with some open ended hose attached which either connects to the original airbox or hang down behind the rear of the engine.

    The scuffing isn't critical, It's the piston to bore clearance that is. As long as it will tolerate a hone for the new rings without exceeding the specs just re-use them.

    Here's a pic of the repair sleeves for the bonded type rubber link tubes and tees. MIKUNI VM26 Carburetor centre fuel rail Tee seals suzuki gs1000 gs750 | eBay These are in the UK but he posts worldwide.​ Once your old rubber has been removed these just push on. I've used them with no issues.

    Stock carbs don't have copper link tubes with a rubber sleeve so it sounds like someone in the past have made their own . Depending on year and model the link tubes are either turned aluminium with 'o'rings or cast aluminium with a bonded ribbed rubber coating. Suitable replacements can be found...

    Yes! It's the main air jet passage to the needle jet tube and likely overflowing due to excess fuel height in the bowl caused by either a sticking/leaking float valve or similar.

    Looks like a casting flaw ( air pocket ) which was revealed when the journal was bored. Won't be a problem so leave it as is.

    Depending on the condition of the old seals it can be very tricky and time consuming getting them out as many times they can be as hard as plastic so won't simply pull out and unless the seals are undersize or the incorrect shore rating ( i.e too soft ) it is impossible to reliably fit new seals...

    I'd first ensure that the pilot circuits are clean, that there's no blocked pilot jets and no broken fuel mixture screw tips blocking their outlets in the venturi floor before going any further.

    As others have advised. Never replace any original brass internals unless they are physically damaged and then only use genuine Mikuni / Keihin items or Keyster if genuine is unavailable. The only parts that may benefit from replacement are service items such as float valves, gaskets and 'O'...

    Pilot jets

    There is no upgrade. Providing the bike is run regularly and the tank and fuel lines are free from debris etc they rarely give any trouble. Occasionally one may get a partial blockage which usually clears on the run but for all four to become blocked is nearly always the result of the carbs...

    For pod filters you should fit air correctors, Leave ALL other settings, needle position and pilot jet STOCK and just increase the main from 95 to 110 as a starting point ( you should end up around 102/105 ) Pods should be quality free flowing K&N, S&B, APE, Unifilter etc and not cheap chinese...
