A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    non abrasive/ invasive aluminium/mag dip

With this being my first complete rebuild of a bike its taught me a few things, one of those being clean and prep before you machine, itll make a lot less of a risk of messing up machining if you use something too corrosive or abrasive. That being said i ended up using an aluminum cleaner spray...

    non abrasive/ invasive aluminium/mag dip

oh guys i know its been way too long for this bike to get finished, unfortunately it is not a joke when i say cleaning parts has been the reason its taking so long, i have cleaned everything pretty damn well except the cylinder head and cylinder walls and scrubbing with a brush is taking too...

    are the motors painted?

do they paint the gs650 crankcases and possibly other covers? whats the best way to approach removing it? im sure i could brush it away if i want to work on the same area for 30 minutes but it seems a bit unnecessary to do that lol, the case is just such a more complex shape than the outside...

    performance camshafts

cams wont be changed at all that idea was out the door a long time ago now, this bike will be enough fun for what its going to be, better to just build a 1000 or something. if this was similar to a 600 of today and was as modifiable it would possibly be a different story. the two things i could...

best paint options for everything except the tank

Honestly the only reason I haven't done the tank and probably won't anytime soon is because it's hard to have a better colour scheme than the original given I bought it spray painted black and got to reveal the original paint underneath but also if I were to have the tank redone I want it to...

    performance intake mod

Yes I'm open for opinions lol I couldn't be on here if I wasnt, do you think it could be something else causing the bike to act up? would leaky valves do something like that? My exhaust valves were very built up with carbon behind the valve seat. Is it a common thing to adjust stock cams...

    performance intake mod

getting closer to the rebuild being done and well i think its a better idea to use the stock airbox instead of modifying and tuning an aftermarket intake from a brand new engine, and it came with a question that hopefully actually helps my bike run better, after having an aftermarket exhaust...

the circlips my bore kit came with are a different design than my OEM ones and i was wondering if i should run a certain one, the OEM is a simple open ring shape and the bore kit circlips have more of a 2 stroke design to them, having one end bent in a bit. somebody whos been helping me out with...
