    1981 gs650e

i think its something like around 3000 were made, either for the GL or the 650s in general. its a great rider so its up to you if you think its worth restoring, but they don't necessarily bring in a lot of value.

best paint options for everything except the tank

I wish you could make polls in the forum for things like this, so we can see the majority vote, but either way I'm sure ill make a good choice as to what to use. would it be better to paint the motor while its separated, or as one whole unit? maybe that's an opinion based question but I figured...

    The rebuild has started

The winner is, Castrol GTX 15w40. Will probably end up keeping rear brake I just have to get it working, I have all the parts for it and the correct pedal too. Bracket and mount on frame on the left side will be taken out though more than likely. I figured for higher speeds aerodynamics does...

well, what would be the best oil to use if I'm hard on the bike? I'm in Florida, I was looking at the Suzuki manual and it seems I should be running 10W-40 to 20W-50, I was only able to find an article from 2005 and I wouldn't say I got the clearest answer other then to not use synthetic oil.

how long have you had the VHT paint done? not the first person who told me about them actually. would i have to have them heated right away or can there be time in-between, as in longer than a week or so? if not i will just schedule doing the paint accordingly.

    LED lights on old bike

i dont plan on converting anything major to LED, but i might get rid of the middle section as my fuel gauge doesn't work anymore and I don't need the turn signal light, but what I would like is to have a neutral light still and the gear indicator would also be nice, i found this little light...

best paint options for everything except the tank

I do have access to a sandblaster, and my engine cases are also all separated, I don't mind doing a bunch of prep work at all. would using ceracoat on the engine be the way to go if that's the best for the exhaust?

By transmission oil do you mean motor oil? My system is a little different I have been told, but my engine and transmission are all lubricated by the same oil and the driveshaft does have its own sperate oil, there was no mixing beforehand and ofcourse they will be replaced if needed, today is...

    The rebuild has started

been ready to start the rebuild process on the bike, and finally I started today, we are down to the bottom end with the pistons still on and tomorrow the rest will be removed from the frame and onto the bench to finish the teardown.
