A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Murray’s carbs

For which machine ? If you are talking of the twin carb conversions for four cylinder machines they are a compromise and restrict top end power. If two carbs would work as well as four then Suzuki and every other manufacturer would have just fitted two and saved a fortune on production and...

    Camshaft Regrind

If they offer lobe build up, regrind and hardface ( as any respectable cam grinders should ) then you should go for that option, especially if you want to retain the stock profile. Reducing the base circle won't alter the lobe profile but just increase lift although if you want extra lift that...

    Camshaft Regrind

To restore the original cam profile the base circle will have to be ground in relation to the existing lobe height lost during grinding anyway to maintain the original lift figures. Unless you are looking to gain lift it's pointless having the base circle reduced more than is needed. If you are...

    Correct float height for vm22ss

Carb spec sheet lifted from official Suzuki site.. The VM22 specs are top of the list.. 24mm float height. New valves don't guarantee they won't leak especially if they are pattern items. Year Country Model Carb bore ID idle rpm idle +/- fuel level...

    Correct float height for vm22ss

GS550 VM22ss is 24mm + or - 1mm. Overflowing is more likely to be due to leaking float valves.

Lesson learnt, Lesson taught VM 26's

Looks like the one on the left is for an air mix screw and the right for fuel mix.. A simple mistake if a kit comes with both options and the carbs only use one type.

    Dynajet questions vm26

You simply need to fit air corrector jets and go up a size or two from stock on the mains. Pilot jets and jet needle settings etc all need to be put back to stock and stick to the plan of fitting proper quality pods. All the cheap chinese and no name brands will cause further problems. PM me for...

VM 26 Holes in carb body, some plugged, some not?

The carb bank is made up of two identical left hand body castings and two identical right hand body castings which are simply machined differently depending on their final location on the back plate and whether they are positioned on the inner cylinders or outer cylinders. For example , carbs...

    Unfortunately, another pod post

Most of mine started out like that and sometimes less :biggrin-new: No unknown surprises from the previous owners efforts when you build from the ground up and you already know every inch if something does happen to cause trouble. More than likely those three pods have much more surface area...

    Unfortunately, another pod post

Yes! Correct. The air correctors allow the same adjustabilty to the air bleed passage as is present on the VM smoothbore versions which are designed to operate without an airbox .

    Unfortunately, another pod post

The Kawasaki VM's have either just an air screw on the side or just a fuel screw underneath depending on year and model to adjust the pilot circuit with the VM26's having either and the vm28's solely only an air screw and never a fuel screw. The Suzuki VM's whether vm22,24,26 or 28mm have both...

    Unfortunately, another pod post

Still have no f**king idea what you are talking about and you persist on quoting the airbox post which i have never discussed and don't care about and now you are bleating on about destroying MY rings which haven't been mentioned anywhere either. You have no idea what filtration methods i use on...

    Unfortunately, another pod post

The original OP asked for pod jet kit recomendations which is exactly what he got in as few words as needed in ONEreply and he has now acted on it . The airbox has no real connection to the OP.s first post and i never commented on it. My one other reply ( to anyone but you ) was in response to a...

Are you on drugs ??? Those air box pic's have nothing to do with me and i have not posted any "theory" regarding them or even commented on them.. My answer detailing the function of the main air jets was in reply to ROB S'squeryand the information contained in that post is FACT not theory . A...

    Unfortunately, another pod post

No! How do you come to that strange conclusion ??? You get the same unrestricted air flow without the associated off idle hesitaton / bogging and that's it.. The air corrector ( main air jet conversion ) targets the cause of the off idle lean spot without detrimentally affecting the rest of the...
