A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Bugged by pushrod seal

Just replaced my pushrod oil seal after the cases are back together i put some oil inside the case bore and a little bit of vaseline around the seal itseld lined it up by finger and then used the old seal and a small hammer to tap it in. What i am seeing is that the old seal that i got out had a...

    Copper headgasket O-rings.??

Grimly yes if i am correct the oil is shot up from the 2 holes on the back and drains by gravity on the two on the front. I didnt want to risk it and not put anything so i used 4 P8 orings that sat inside the hole of the gasket very nicely held down by a little bit of vaseline until i torqued...

    Copper headgasket O-rings.??

Ended up putting 4 P8 orings on the 4 corner gasket holes just to be safe
  16. Kara25

    Copper headgasket O-rings.??

GregT but the rings look so thin i cant understand how they will crush that much to seal the oil passage on the studs. Will it hurt anything if i put 4 rubber orings now? I DONT want to tear this thing down again for leaks
  17. Kara25

    Copper headgasket O-rings.??

slayer61 unfortunately no its an aftermarket gasket but even the OEM ones there was a change on 650 headgaskets down the road the E,G variation were having embeded rubber orings but the 650M (katana) had a headgasket similar to mine with big holes on the 4 corners with a copper looking ring and...

    Copper headgasket O-rings.??

Got a NOS gs650 headgasket for my build and noticed that the package didnt contain any rubber orings that are supposed to go to the 4 corner oil holes that the studs go through. Instead on the 4 corners the gasket has embeded 4 copper looking orings. Is that normal? No rubber orings needed like...

    Testing the starter clutch assembly??

Got it off and reasembled. Sure enough the chamfered side was looking away from the bearing. Used my bmw single front whell axle bolt as a slide hammer to remove rotor i was lucky. :D
