DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    GS1150 EF / GSX1100 EF Decals

I have found myself to be the latest owner of a very tidy 1985 GSX1100 EF (GS 1150 EF for the North Americans). As shown in the pic the bike is in great condition for it's age and has had a fresh repaint buy the previous owner. IMG_4691 by RobK67, on Flickr The only thing I don't have is the...

    1981 GSX1100 Katana Based Project

Max, Fully understand the weight thing, I admire your commitment trimming the Kat down. You are correct about the OEM carbs, I loved them when the bike was standard but they don't cut the mustard now. A set of Mukini 36mm now sit in their place. I did go for a sporty Kat and after a 9 year...

    1981 GSX1100 Katana Based Project

Max, I fitted a TRUB7B oil cooler when I added an oil cooler to my Kat. Size is 70 x 280 x 38mm (2.75 X 11 X 1.5 in) and weighs just under 500gms (1lb). Fits in nicely between the side cowlings. I modified the in/outlets to fit 1/2" NPT fittings. Works a charm. Pics always help. I have more if...

GS shop recommendation east of Dallas

I lived in Rockwall and worked in Greenville 8 years ago. I found Clark's Wheeled Sports at 8705 Wesley St Greenville purely by accident. The owner, John, was a former Suzuki dealer. He loves and raced all things GS, he is also into Vincents. He must be close to eighty now. I didn't get any work...

    VM carbs on a Katana

Info from my factory service manual shows the Oz and Kiwi GSX1000SZ and SD came with the Mikuni VM32SS carbs. The 1100 SZ, SD and SE were fitted with Mikuni BS34SS carbs. I have fitted the Mikuni BS34SS carbs to my GSX1000SD and found there was a lot less grunt but better fuel economy. Even...

    Exhaust bolts or Studs?

Hi Guys, I am in the process of rebuilding an 1150 head and will need to insert helicoils in some of the exhaust threads. I will be using Yoshi headers so they will need to be removed to change the oil. The bike is an '83 Katana with '93 GSXR 750 front end. The bike will not be an everyday ride...

    GS1100 vs Katana needle/needle jet

Wayne, I have had a quick look in my GXS1100 Service Manual and it looks like the 5D59 needle is standard but the needle jet is dependent on the carbies I.D. No. If you have 49210 carbs the needle jet is X-1, Carbs with I.D. No 49230, 49250, 49260, 49270, 49290, 49330, 49340, 49360, 49370...
