My '80 GS(X)1100e needed stock carbs and the best set I could find at a recycler was from an 1100 Katana. "Same carb" I was assured.
Close, but not quite. The main difference is that the KAT needle is a 5D 59 into an X-2 needle jet vs a 5D 58 on the GS which has an X-1 needle jet.
Other slight difference is that the Kat pilot jet is a 47.5 vs a 45 on the GS.
I take it the engines on these early Kat's are the same as that on the GS/GSX 1100's (?).
Am I worried about nothing here, perhaps the changes are an improvement or is this going to be a source of hair tearing for me when I come to tune the bike ?
