DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Unless you're sitting on the bike up in the bed of your truck while someone else drives, it doesn't count. ;-)

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

Yeah, I'm aware of that. At first I didn't want to have to deal with all the tupperware, but it's just time. No biggie.

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

Yes I did and I sold it when I got the FZ1 repaired and back on the road. Really no comparison between it and the 1000G. The 1000G had a better seat for 1 or 2 riders in my opinion. Hard to beat those big ole' couch slabs. The GSX1100G was much faster than the 1000G. I feel like the 1000G was...

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

Oh yeah, I did take the wife out a few times on the '81 1000G I use to have and sold to Robert Barr, who sold to Simon, who dumped it on the way to Brown County, who sold to Jim, who sold to whomever. Ha! That bike got around. It was ok for 2 up but I was looking to maximize her comfort since...

Well my mistake, it's the GS motorcycle discussion section. Whatever.

Thanks Jedz. I happened to catch your youtube video of the GL1500. AND...I am buying a 1999 GL1500 this Saturday. The bike is like new and has around 40K miles. Everything works and has been meticulously cared for. Looking forward to some nice rides with my wife.

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

You know, I hadn't even thought about an old G model bike for two-up riding. Good thought. They are getting a bit harder to find these days though.

I called Russell Daylong and it will cost me almost as much as the seat originally cost me several years ago just to have the rear redone and the whole thing recovered. They've gone up considrably.

Nothing better than a free bike. Nice!

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

I spend a whole day on one out in Phoenix a few years ago. It's an ok bike but I really wouldn't buy one. And the back seat is nothing compared to the lazy boy on the back of a Goldwing.

I test rode an ST1100 a few weeks ago and was not really impressed much.

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

I never thought of the Blackbird as a sports tourer. It's more along the lines of a 95/96 Kawasaki GPZ1100. I owned a '95 GPZ and was a great bike, but not really a 2-up situation.

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

Same thing with the K1200LT. Can't even flush out and replace the coolant without removing a ton a plastic AND the gas tank, which is an odd shaped thing underneath all that plastic. I rode the FZ1 today over lunch for the first time in a couple weeks. I just love that bike. Maybe I can just...

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

After watching a bunch of youtube videos of this bike, I'm going to look elsewhere. Too many problems and it's a pita to work on. You have to remove too much plastic to get to anything. Have to remove the gas tank just to access the radiator fill tube. And the final drive is know to fail. This...

Probably 1600. While the 1200 seems quick enough, I don't think it's known for being THAT quick. I believe they come in around 98 crank HP.

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

With my wife on the back of the FZ1, it gets somewhat crowded so I'm starting to think about finding something with a bit more room. I came across a 2000 BMW K1200LT for sale and looks pretty comfy, although very big and heavy. Anyone have any insight on these sport tourers almost the size of a...
