DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

out with jumper cables, in with jump boxes

You have to find out if your lighter adapter is a fast charge. Usually, it's the wall charger using the USB cable. Similar to your cell phone. I'd see if you can find out what your lighter adapter rating is. https://no.co/media/wysiwyg/downloads/User_Guides/Boost/GB70-User_Guide_03.07.2025A.pdf

    Question about turn signal wiring

I had 2 1982 GS1100L models in the past and both had front running lights which is why you have 3 wires.

    Bandit 1250 Modification Questions

I've had 2 2008 Bandits and still have one. Both with a slip on and K&N filter. First one had a Power Commander. Both seemed very stout without any additional mods. The best add on in my opinion was going to a Sargent seat to replace the original concrete block seat.

    Tires for the Bandit

Yes, PR4's were the last 2 sets on my 2008. Very pleased with them.

    1982 GS1100GL Fuel Economy

My 82 1100L constantly ran in the mid 40's for mph bone stock. If I ran non ethanol, I got high 40's.

    HJC Helmets customer service

The best! I have a IS max 2 modular that the chin bar stopped detenting in the up position. I did some searching online for a mention of this with no luck, so I shot them an email. Right away they came back with "should be an easy fix. We'll send you the parts no charge" Couple days later I got...

    Seat cover fitment issues

That seat cover looks like my 82 GS1100L looks like. Not similar to what seems to be yours.

Looking at the 2019 Yamaha FJR1300A. Any experience, opinions appreciated.

My brother has one. 2008. He did the bar set backs and went with a Sargent seat. I've ridden it several times and while yes, heavier than my Bandit 1250, it was a pure pleasure to ride. Smooth and tons of torque on demand. If I was going to do longer rides than my daily jaunts, it would be my...

    seat foam

Not sure about the steamer. Wouldn't the foam be puffing up because you're introducing moisture into it, just like a sponge? When it dries out, it'll shrink again.

    Steam Cleaning

I've used Purple Power for the last few years on the Bandit. Spray down the front of the engine and radiator, let it sit and hose it off. Amazing how much road grime washed off.

1983 GS1100L Starter Motor removal tip needed

Yep, pretty easy. Once you put it back in, you can use a drift pin through the hole in the starter down into the threaded holes to help ease it in and line up the holes for the bolts.

"Pure gas". How long does it stay good?

I've run "pure" gas for years in the bike and lawn equipment. I do put a splash of Sta-Bil in before the end of the season. Never drained the carbs and never had an issue starting things up in the spring.

What fuel octane are you running?

I've been running ethanol free gas for years now in the bike, snowblower, 2 cycle equipment and my lawn tractor. It's at several stations around here. I actually have seen an increase in MPG on the bike when I started using it. But the most interesting thing is that with the lawn tractor, when...

    Buying parts at the dealer

Yeah, been out to Stones several times. Jack's a nice guy and usually helped out with the older parts when I had the 82 1100. They cut their hours way back recently but still do inspections on Saturday if you just stop in. I've stopped the last couple years at PJ's as well for a NYSI. Joe's...

    Buying parts at the dealer

Excellent point and I usually do that. But this was sort of on a lark as I was riding by and figured I'd just stop in. Lesson learned.

No. Actually Filer's in Macedon. I see you're in Wayne County. I'm in Ontario.

    Buying parts at the dealer

So, I figured I'd stop into the local super dealer. Maybe throw a few dollars locally. Granted it's not an older GS but a 2008. Needed a brake light switch for my Bandit. FYI, the same part number is used in over 100 different Suzuki models. The interchange went something like this... Can I...
