A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    82 GS 860G DECAL SET

Close but no cigar. I was thinking trim out the stripes that do not match the ones on my bodywork. However, like on the tail section, if i cut the stripe it then leaves a break in the rest of the stripe. I could use a removed part to bridge gaps but then i have a bunch of bumps in the line....

    Play in Advance Governor

Yes youll get a little play if turning crank nut counterclockwise. Its the chain tensioner rod having the play not the governor. You should never turn crank counterclockwise though. Only clockwise rotation. Only thing to look at with the governor is play in the flyweight springs. I have had to...

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

We can all pontificate till hell freezes over but the issue will require breaking it down and finding whats going on. When you pull the head and flip it over youll see what valves are wet with oil and the piston will be oily.

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

Suppose a cracked valve guide could also leak a lot of oil into the exhaust area.

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

If 3 plug is oil fouled then it will fail. By dripping fast that makes me also think of the dreaded exhaust bolt piercing the oil galley. Ive heard that too long of a bolt can break the head casing and allow oil to escape the oil galley and run out down the bolt. I personally would skip all the...

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

In theory yes rings are possible. Oil bypassing rings brings blue smoke. Theoretically its possible the exhaust gaskets could have a very slight leak, just enough to let some oil weep past the gasket and drip on the outside of the head and pipes. Either way i would do a full top end refresh...
