A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Swingarm

None, the Bandits are Mono shocks. Thinking converting a Bandit, mono shock swingarm, to a dual shock GS1100E could create a slight problem. But anything is possible.

    Pic of the week game

All very good this week, but for me it's between Steve and Dork for their interesting "items" in their sky. Voting Dorkburger for the memories of looking for that exact same Big Dipper as a kid... Gosh how many yrs. ago was that?????

    Will I die? - 1987 Suzuki GS450L

Not sure about the MT & J...You said front tire says "TUBELESS TIRE APPLICABLE". Does the "tire" or "wheel" say that?? If wheel says it, put anything you want on it, with or without tube... If tire says it, I don't know.

    1980 or 1982 GS1100E--Which Would You Choose?

Hey Bruce, I don't know how to do links but just punching around I just found an appx. 10 min. You Tube video titled "1981 Suzuki GS1100E vs 1983 Suzuki GS1100E" (should be exact same as 1980 vs 1982). I was very surprised that guy's ideas were so close to mine. We both like the smaller feel and...

    1980 or 1982 GS1100E--Which Would You Choose?

Nice looking bike Block, but waaay away from the orig. champagne color. The orig. color was not near that gold.

    1980 or 1982 GS1100E--Which Would You Choose?

For me just personal preference, I like the looks of the "80" better. 2 differences the "80" don't have the useless anti-dive system, and pretty sure Suzuki started welding the crankshafts in mid "82", so if a late "82" that would be good... Oh yeah, Welcome to the GSR.

    1982 GS1000 Z US Version

Yep, this bike, though I've never liked them, absolutely should be put back to orig. condition by somebody... You can find something to resto mod any place any time. Odds way against finding something that seems this special & rare ever again.

    Vacuum Tires?

Something about this thread is terribly misconstrued !!!! There is absolutely nothing about tubeless that in any way relates to vacuum. One place says max. inflation 44 psi, next place says non inflatable, also says non run flat, if you can't inflate it and you can't run it flat?????... Would be...

Do you still own a GS?

    Yep, got a 1991 GSX1100G, a 1999 GSF 1200, a 2005 GSF1200, but thinking my 1983 GS1100E is the only one that counts in this conversation.

GS300L starts and idles but bogs with throttle

Great it's fixed, but would have rather known what the problem really was instead of just guessing what it might have been. Now we're back to the orig. question with no answer. Main thing congrats it's fixed.

GS300L starts and idles but bogs with throttle

Seems odd that runs same with or without the air box connected, but I've not done much with the smaller GS's. I do know, on the larger bikes, there is a rubber plug that goes in behind (under) the pilot jet, leaving those little rubber plugs out will cause the appx. problems you describe.
