A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

That's absolutely frigging nuts for Victoria. We've had about 80cm (3 feet) here in the last while but that's sort of normal and we're used to it. Bummer here is at a daily high today of -21C it was just too cold to go skiing. Turning into wimp in my old age. LOL.

    Go Fast Innovations JIS Screwdrivers

Thanks for the reminder. My # 2 after a lot use lost it's tip as well. I'll drop him a note as well. Great set of drivers, comfy in the hand, well balanced and you can apply a lot of torque with handle design when properly seated in the screw.

Very cool Eli. I haven't seen that on trees but we get that on bare ground after a big freeze. It's called needle ice. Not sure if that's what's in your picture but it forms when a porous damp object such as wood or the ground freezes and it actually pushes the moisture up through small pores...

Yes. It just looks so wrong. Those bars and that road just look so wrong together. Gets my vote too though.

Here's one from the experimental garden at the university in Fairbanks Alaska from a few years ago. To me it looks almost cartoonish. Don't know what they're feeding the flowers but I'd like some. 2022-10-31_02-38-41 by soates50, on Flickr

    Rotor diameter???

The rear disc on my '79 is about 10 3/4 inch. Looks to be about the same as the front twin disc. Maybe you have the larger single disc on the rear by mistake.

    72 r5 part 2

The RD350 was a 6 speed vs 5 speed. I had an RD back in the day. One of the most fun bikes I've owned. Good project Chuck. A buddy here also has a real nice R5.

Great photos as usual from you guys. Out in southern Alberta these days trying out how the new trailer does in the cold with no shore power. Below freezing at night and the solar, batteries and furnace are doing great...yay. 2022-09-20_09-04-10 by soates50, on Flickr
