DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Hydraulic clutch converstion

I would say its probably a bit lighter pull on the lever, not much though, but a much smoother action. Also the added bonus of never having to adjust it

    Hydraulic clutch converstion

I did a hydraulic clutch conversion on my GS1000 years ago. proper set up with 1200 Bandit m/c and slave cylinder. made a plate for the slave to fit, made a pushrod with a modified GSXR pressure plate "pusher", and used a gs750 pushrod oil seal. I love it, would never consider swapping it back...

    Total loss ignition

Not true, all of the 3 moto GP classes still rely on external starters. None of them have, or require an "onboard" starting facility.

    My new toy, 1996 CBR900rr

Maybe so for track use, on most bikes, but in my opinion this handled like a pig and it was so dam uncomfortable to ride. It shifted all my weight forward onto my wrists and i couldn't sit on the seat properly as i was always sliding forward right up against the tank. Now it is back to how it...

    My new toy, 1996 CBR900rr

I have had a few good rides out on it and after i sorted out some issues with it i have started to like it. When i bought it there was a jack up kit on the back, which made the riding position and handling awful, who knows why people want to jack up the rear?? Also my legs were almost bent...

Digital Tach Question. Show me what you have please.

Yeah i had to machine some bezels to get them to sit nice in the housing, then back plates to accomodate the original mounting brackets and chrome covers that fit on the back.

Digital Tach Question. Show me what you have please.

I am currently in the process of installing Koso digital gauges into the stock GS1000 housing, keeping the original idiot lights in the centre. Lots of work to make them fit but will have a very stock appearance when finished, minus the 2 drive cables of course.

Has anybody converted to aftermarket tach and speedo?

I am currently in the process of retro fitting a set of Koso clocks into an original 78 GS1000 meter casing. Its a tricky job to get them to fit but its taking shape. A 140mph speedo and a 10k tacho with shift light. I will be keeping the original idiot lights in the middle section.

Can I get a cotter pin from the hardware store?

Your R CLIP is fitted upside down. Should go in from the top, less chance of it falling out. I always use R CLIPS instead of SPLIT PINS as they can be re-used again and again, and are easily removable with fingers, rather than pliers or side cutters. R CLIPS can be secured with lock wire over...

I would like to introduce Stanley, the newest member of the family. Just picked this up the other day, i was looking out for a cheap runabout and a friend of mine offered me it for a price i couldnt turn down. Its clean and well looked after, few niggly issues that need addressing and the...
