A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Vance & Hines back to Suzuki power, Angelle riding

There are apparently 2 heads approved by NHRA, one made by Monster, another by V&H. The Suzukis had been limited to a billet Monster 2V head prior to that. The Monster head is shim under bucket, the V&H head has finger followers. Billet 4 V head (monsterraceproducts.com) Suzuki is limited to...

    POP SPUTTER (new petcock)

Also check to see that the tank vent is not clogged. After running for a while open the gas cap. If you hear a "whoosh" the vent is clogged

    POP SPUTTER (new petcock)

The Z1 petcock is a K&L aftermarket one, not OEM. You will be much happier if you buy a real OEM one from Partzilla or another authorized Suzuki dealer. https://www.partzilla.com/product/suzuki/44300-45372

    Big touring bike

How about a Kawi Concours 1000? Plenty of them for a grand, decent bike. 1986-2005-ish when it was replaced by the 1400.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

It was a beautiful day in the PNW, not a cloud in the sky and 50's. Took the Corvette to fill up with ethanol free, did some yard work, and went for a ride on the 1260. This thing is brutal now after the RS carbs. Throttle is Off or Hang the F*$k on....

41mm or 39mm front end choice...

Bandit forks are 775mm, same length as stock and 43mm diameter. Use a RF900R lower Triple and the Bandit upper, geometry is correct at least on a GS1100e. Gen 1 Bandit forks also retain the speedo drive. Use the Bandit swing arm and wheels too and you can swap to modern radial tires and save...

Standard GSX1100 1981, what size rs flat slides ? and what filters to use. K & N ?

In case you don't know, the RS carbs are noisy. Really noisy. From the slides flapping. Also they have a much stiffer return spring to ensure they close from high RPM which causes hand fatigue and a touchy throttle. Try a bike with them first if you can. I have them on my drag bike, but not sure...

Milling the head for more compression?

Why has no one mentioned a thinner base gasket? That is the cheapest and easiest way to move the piston closer to the head and increase compression. Measure the deck height and valve clearance first, of course. Base gaskets are available as thin as .005 for the 1100e
