A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

idle/pilot guidance please(hanging idle, black out tailpipes)

Sounds like fuel is not getting through the pilots to the idle circuit. Wearing safety glasses spray carb cleaner through where the pilots install and see if it exits in the bore from the tiny holes beneath the idle mixture screw. I rebuilt a set of keihin carbs twice but still had blocked...

idle/pilot guidance please(hanging idle, black out tailpipes)

Check the needles for closure. If the are closed you shoul Not be able to get fuel past them. Spray carb cleaner from inside the bore and see if it makes it to the feed tube in the bowl

    No voltage to coil

Do you know how coils work? Take a look at any bike schematic and you'll see the secondary is grounded.

81 GS650G Jetting question, Spark Plug question

The 650 engine definitely runs best with the airbox assembly. You will get 42-45 MPG and it will run like an electric motor if you put it back to stock. I would gravitate towards getting the airbox back on it. The L and G models use the same airbox, I have the rear section but not the front...

    Carb Tuning Question

I wouldn't assume you need to go big on the mains just because it has "a pipe" If the baffle is in and it's a regular Vh street pipe like the 12500 model I would go just 1 or two sizes up. I have the VH and found stock jets work fine, as VH recommended. Going big just threw a lot of black...

idle/pilot guidance please(hanging idle, black out tailpipes)

Sounds like too much fuel through the pilot circuit. What did the rubber plugs look like? Tight or loose? You remembered to install them right? take the idle mixture screws all the way down, don't force them, and back out 1 1/2 turns. You might also have no pilot circuit flow. Did you have...

    No voltage to coil

Check the mounting bolts for the coil. That is where it grounds to the frame. The engine has a ground wire that completes the circuit. Try running a wire temporarily from the coil mount to the engine block. You might need new high tension leads. I found solid wire core leads ( Accel ) and...

bullet connectors on wiring - are there special requirements ?

Not True, Again. Nothing wring with bullet terminals for any connection on a bike. Including the RR connections.

    Honda RR kits available again

I have a Centric stator in my 650G, OEM still in the 1000G. Basscliff turned me on to them. They are about 90 dollars. Never used a Ricks or electrosport. The Centric was well made and came with the grommet, something not always provided.

Yes indeed. I was cautioned and didn't heed.

    Honda RR kits available again

98% of people who received regulators from me are happy with them, many have returned to buy more when they got new bikes. I actually procure, modify and stand behind these parts rather than suggest doing it all yourself. Plenty of alternatives exist. I don't make outlandish claims but I have...

    Honda RR kits available again

One feature I like is the mounting holes are the same as Suzuki OEM. Makes it easy to replace and looks stock.

    Honda RR kits available again

I still offer a lifetime replacement on the RRs I offer. I've swapped out 5 in 8 years, out of several hundred shipped. None were bad, it was usually connections or the battery. Just sent one to England, not the farthest I've shipped.

    Honda RR kits available again

I have made a number of Honda RR replacement kits up for sale. These are ShinDenGen regulators from Honda bikes that I rewired for the GS Suzuki. All are cleaned and soda blasted and look great! As always I can provide assistance with wiring and fitting the regulators. The Honda RR fits in...
