A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well Garth, Trailer hitches don't work well on the bow so yeah, I'm going to say it's on the stern. :D GS450TX pulling a CB125S all the way to the left coast. Next up... making a Quicksilver fit the bow.

A little whine with your ride sir?

I'd start by looking for loose bolts and (or) play in the drive shaft's u-joints.

What sorts of things do you have left to repair on the bike? I'm about 35~40 minutes north of you. I have a trailer, ramps, and a fair amount of tools. The problem for me is, I just promised to fill in part time for my old boss starting this afternoon. I can trailer it to my place if you need...

    SuperTech lubricants MSDS

Find an oil that doesn't sludge up the valve train area - pcv ect. and call it good. I personally use Mobil 1 in both cars along with quality Wix and Bosch filters and change the oil at 6,000 miles. I buy the oil on sale and when there is a rebate. It satisfies my need to be frugal and use...

    SuperTech lubricants MSDS

http://msds.walmartstores.com/ SuperTech lubricants appear to be mostly Citgo products now. (They used to be Warren Performance Products?) I found this info when researching yellow metal safe gear oils to replace an obsolete GL-1 spec. Just put in SuperTech in the product name tab and smack...

    decompression valve

I based my comment off the above information. If it were me I would pull the cam and have a look at it. NOTE*** the inner shaft MAY have the ability to be assembled two different ways. The incorrect way allows for it to work exactly opposite as intended. Pay attention to the orientation of the...

    decompression valve

Inside the exhaust cam is another shaft which when rotated raises a plunger. At very low rpm's, this extended plunger causes the cam follower (in most cases) to be lifted above the base circle which in turn lifts the exhaust valve off it seat slightly. The leakage created by holding the valve...

    1977 Kawasaki KH400 $4000

In my opinion the H1 was a fairly civil running bike. The wire spoked wheels and brake system on them was an entirely different matter. A hopped up H2 on the other hand made for what I would characterize as a very uncivilized ride even after being converted to dual disc brakes up front.

    1978 gs1000 gas tank

They are a rare bird to find especially one in decent shape. The 79 GS1000 base and E variants are the exact same tank minus the indent.

That is a fine looking ride you have got there. GS1000H model correct?

Looks like my riding days are done.

Sorry to hear that Greg. You are smart to keep one around just in case. Sometimes life just gets too busy and things get put on the back burner. I've decided to sell off three of mine and pare down to just the Skunk. In the end that's all I'll need anyway.

    Main electrical help wanted

Clarification... Does anything light up/work when the key is in the on position? Does the bike crank? If it doesn't, have you tried jumping across the starter solenoid with a screwdriver to see if it will crank?
