A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    T-Nation Thread (My 2nd Thread) 3rd Overall (I think)

“This bike should be over $2500,, but I'm 71 and reducing my collection of 50 bikes.” And people give me a hard time with all my bikes!

Rear Ride Height: A pet peeve fixed for about $10

I’m almost 5 years late to this party, but I’ve looked into having a set of these or something similar made up and I must agree, those are some nice looking pieces!

    carbtune

Hope it works well for you. In my experience there's too much fluctuation in the dial gauge type tool, the needles bounce up and down like crazy and it's hard to get a good reading and the tiniest turn of the screw is exaggerated on the dial. Granted you can can restrict the tubes (Carbtune...

    carbtune

Sorry 'bout that. Just sharing what the kit goes for total if you want the Colortune too. I'd say most people won't ever need it but since I'm paying shipping across the pond I'll get it for my old VM carb bikes and my XL250's. Tuning a single carb/single cylinder bike outta be cal with these...

Mine is an 81 850GL but as long as it has the BS32 CV carbs it's a 5mm adapter that threads in here: Worst case before you buy the adapters, pull the bike and mic/measure it.

There was a problem with my bank so my cart didn't go through last night but my price of ?139 is because I'm also ordering the kit with the Colortune including the 3 spark plug sizes. It is just ?68 for the Carbtune kit that now includes the case and brass adapters, which is a a great deal...

No more drop down, because the home page and the shopping cart page both state this: "Carbtune Pro comes with the Toolpouch, 5mm and 6mm brass adapters, 4 x nitrile hoses, restricters, comprehensive instructions and warranty. Carbtune Pro is ?68 British pounds" Ordering mine, although today's...

    LED headlight

The ADV Monster has been excellent, I fully endorse it without hesitation or any regret. I'm sure there are similar and even cheaper options available now but this one is bright, well made and a good value.

    My cheap 83 750e

Cool, cant wait to see the progress. I just ordered a Vesrah valve cover gasket ($15) and OEM cam chain tensioner gasket ($2) from Z1 Enterprises. They are awesome, and quick. I don't recall if you already replaced your cam chain tensioner gasket but for $2 while you've got the carbs off...

Polaris R/R prices (SH775, Polaris part number 4012941)

Seems like the prices have all gone up to around $70, and there sure a lot that look counterfeit. JTGS850GL or bobroger, do you see any SH775AA's for Sea-Doo or Can-Am on eBay for ~$35-40 currently? If so what search terms are you using? I got my last one used for less than $40 shipped but I...

    Voltage regulator, maybe broken? Pics

What, no photo credit? ;) This is the way to go, and the connectors come preloaded with a thick yellow dielectric grease packed in them as well.

    R/R , correct part?

Agreed. Get some deoxit and dielectric grease, clean and coat all electrical connections thoroughly. Especially the ones that supply and return power. I press the nozzle of the dielectric grease to the face of the female connectors - whether bullet or multi terminal spade type, and squeeze the...

    R/R , correct part?

Found some pics of my CF install. Here it is under the battery box, no go on my 83 750ES, it's touching the swingarm: So here's where it went under the triple tree, right above the oil cooler in the air flow, not that it needs much - being series it runs very cool: I wired directly into...

    R/R , correct part?

Ok, not smaller, narrower and not as tall so it still fits under the battery box on my 850. The CF wouldn't - too tall and the bolt holes were further apart. I was able to ream out the slot on the SH-775 and fit it in the factory spot under the battery box, at least until the bolt hole threads...

    R/R , correct part?

I have installed both the Compu-Fire 55402 and the SH-775 on my GS's. The CF is big and seems well built, I got mine about 2 years ago on Amazon for $169 shipped. Agreed that the 10 gauge wire is overkill although I ran mine all the way from the battery/stator up to right under the neck, above...

    ATTENTION Engine builder's!

^^ This! My daughters Saturn Vue (Saturn was GM, influenced heavily by Opel, but is now defunct for those that aren't aware) has a Honda J35 engine and 5 speed transmission in it. So I use both metric and standard when I work on it. Mostly metric though, likely due to the Opel influence...

    ATTENTION Engine builder's!

I'd say you can measure it in whatever units you prefer and convert as needed based on the unit spec provided but I'm curious, as this seems like a bit of a self contradiction - do you prefer American units (decimals and fractions) or "sillymeters"? I am a proud American citizen but to me, the...

    Battery Recommendations?

Sounds like you're on the right track. Amazon and Chrome battery have some good prices. No reason to get lead acid anymore and IMO li-ion isn't ready for prime time yet. Also check and clean the electrical connections, especially those from the stator and to the R&R, battery and the fuse box...
