A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    an interesting product

Agreed, I was actually looking into heated grips or gloves/socks today and would need a separate controller for them. I may just take the money I would put towards a controller and get one of these. I've wondered why there are very few smart phone connected devices and apps like this. Thanks...

    My cheap 83 750e

Just saw this thread, you've got your work cut out for you. I have an 83 750ES, and the R&R was mounted under the battery box if I remember correctly, I have several bike in various states of disarray right now so I may be thinking of a different bike. Both my 850's had them under the battery...

    1978 GS1000 - Restomod

Very nice! Very nice! Looks fantastic and I agree, the shots are great! As long as you like the side covers, that's all that matters. I am glad you went back to a smaller can too, looks much better than that monster you had on there before.

    How does this happen?

That second one does indeed look like a fake. It should be more of a dark grey, not black and the numbers should be stamped or printed on the back. I got my last one on eBay for $32 shipped, used, from a total Polaris Ranger that had 1100 miles on it.

which one of these headlights do you guys like best?

+1 ON THE ADVmonster bulb. I have one in my ES's stock reflector and it is incredible the difference it makes over the cheap eBay LED I had previously. But if I had to choose, I'd go with 3, provided light spread and pattern was equal on all 3, which it won't be...

Would like feedback on my gs750 plans :)

Doh! Good eye, and thanks Ed. After clicking and going to his photobucket, I can tell the lines are too perfect horizontally along the bottom of the tank, and one of his images even shows a red line keeping it perpendicular to the bottom of the photo.

Would like feedback on my gs750 plans :)

I'm also not a fan of the seat or tailpiece and perhaps your new peice fashioned from the old tank will have smoother lines like you've stated. I like what you've done with the motor, pipes and wheels, did you powdercoat or paint? Clear powder coat with the bare metal on black looks good in this...

    Winterizing ?

We've only had ethanol infused gas here for a while now and as long as you add a fuel stabilizer you should be fine. I've used Stabil for years with great results in all my bikes/mowers/trimmers/saws. I do pretty much the same thing as Ray does above and get the tires off the ground or...

The tractor trailer of MC trailers

The tractor trailer of MC trailers

That's a cool little trailer. I've wanted a motorcycle tent trailer ever since I saw my aunt using one back in the 80's. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for it? Or if you consider selling it, would you let me know?

    Steering head bearings

I went with the all balls bearings from Z1, they were the same price as on the all balls site. Question though - here's where I'm at, at the special notched steering bolt nut: I don't have the special tool shown here: It does state that it's counterclockwise to remove, I am soaking it...

    Steering head bearings

Tackling this tonight and tomorrow - I would have started this last week but I ended up taking a trip to California, and I meant to start it this morning but I picked up and 82 750T last night that took my whole day cleaning up. :) I am hoping to be able to just use the tools I have on hand and...

    T8's 750 Cafe Racer Project

Hahaha that's the one, I love it! Man who Mount their master cylinder to their plastic side cover?! Even with all that I would've bought it and almost did like you said a 1000 is hard to find at least around our neck of the woods so I think you did OK, can't wait to see what you do with it!
