A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Bike Of The Month Submissions

I would like to submit, for your consideration, my resurected 1982 GS650E. I got this bike in late 2024. Saw it listed in the craigslist free section. "Free Junk Bike - Suzuki" No pic attached. I went to check it out and after a few minutes of hacking back some vines and weeds, something...

1982 Gs650E Runaway Throttle at Idle

Update: After a little research, i took a crack at making a set myself from some 3D Printer tips and it worked beautifully. Totally blown away that I was missing out on THAT much power!

Dyna S vs. Chyna S ignition

You know thats what I was thinking when I was looking at it. Kept feeling like i had it backwards, but its not.

Dyna S vs. Chyna S ignition

I purchased one of the knockoff Dyna S systems a while back and have been very pleased with the purchase. The only thing that stands out to me about it is, how far I have to set the advance. Its about a hairs width from being maxed out. Anyone else have this issue? Or is that pointing at...

1982 Gs650E Runaway Throttle at Idle

Yeah things are... rough.. to say the least. Ive got a set of 115s coming for it along with proper mixture screws. I machined the ones im currently using on the mini lathe and they're damn close, but just not quite what it wants.

1982 Gs650E Runaway Throttle at Idle

1982 Gs650E Runaway Throttle at Idle

Ah yes, ive read through your list many times. The only things on there that I could see being the culprit would be the pod air filters, but im using good K&Ns that I modified for clearance for air passage. Unfortunately this bike was in very very bad disrepair when I resurrected it and the...

1982 Gs650E Runaway Throttle at Idle

Alright, ive been over this motor with a fine toothed comb. I cant find anywhere that air would be getting in so im at a loss. I can get it to idle just fine, but the moment I blip the throttle, it runs away and redlines and I have to hit the kill switch. But when it happens when im riding, I...

    1982 GS650E Mixture Screw

I saw those, but was hesitant to buy them because half the time the image didn't match the description. It would say they were for the BS series, but clearly show a VM screw.

    1982 GS650E Mixture Screw

You know, I looked through that site and wasn't able to find any parts for the BS32 carbs. Just the VM models.

    Looking For Images of Gaskets

So I was actually able to get some really high quality vectors from him, but he was unable to give me exact dimensions for each, so I still need at least one measurement from each gasket to get the scaling right.

    Looking For Images of Gaskets

Yeah problem with that is, if he made any mistakes, I'd just be copying them into mine.

    Looking For Images of Gaskets

Ive done it 100 times before and it's always worked. The gasket material I have is a stiffer fiber sheet that i got from FelPro a long while back. Cant remember the exact name of the stuff and the copper i use for the head gaskets is heat treated and super soft, once you torque everything to...

    Looking For Images of Gaskets

Hey yall. I'm hoping someone out there can help me out. I have a 1982 GS650E that needs pretty much all new gaskets. I would like to cut my own on my die cutter, but I haven't been able to find proper images online of the gaskets. I was hoping someone out there has a set and they would be...

    1982 GS650E More Ignition Issues & Gremlins

So just a little update on this: I ended up taking the tips of the dog ears off that kept the piece from being able to slide off. Just BARELY touched them to the belt sander with something like 800 or 1000 grit on it. The next problem i faced was getting the black adapter with the magnet onto...
