A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1982 GS750T - R/R Connector Help Required...

Ah, I see. I hadn't understood that the power went through the fuse box (eventually). So a 15Amp fuse in the Main slot 'should' take care of it. Got some time off work coming up soon, and I'm looking forward to investing it in putting Suzy back together and seeing if she'll start. I'll keep...

    1982 GS750T - R/R Connector Help Required...

Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply. 1. The white connector connected directly to the old SH555 R/R. No extra wires. 2. I don't know if the bike ran and charged with the PO wiring mods, the guy I bought it from didn't make those mods and bought it as a project. How much of a project I don't know...

    1982 GS750T - R/R Connector Help Required...

Thanks Rich. The 'T' was a USA only bike, mine was imported a long time ago. At least I know what I'm doing with the three yellows and the black. Just got those pesky reds to sort out. Alternatively, I can always assume the PO knew what they were doing and simply get a new 6-pin connector...

    1982 GS750T - R/R Connector Help Required...

Sorry. I'm looking at the wires I've got and trying to work out how they wire up to the SH775. I'm using the SH775 Install graphic as my guide. I've filtered through the last 10 pages of this section looking for an answer to my question, and I'm clearly too inexperienced to work it out. So...

As the saying goes... A picture paints a 1000 words. Thank you Rich, as always, you're a great resource. There's lots of things I should've known before doing them LOL. I've studied it. Many times. All those lines crossing over each other and symbols I don't know the meaning off hurt my...

    1982 GS750T - R/R Connector Help Required...

I had a look on the Rectifier/Regulator replacement list post. And the SH555-12 is listed in black as Kawasaki GVZ 600R Shindengen SH555-12 6.12 12amps with 6 pins I'm guessing. Though I've never heard of a Kawasaki GVZ (GPZ?) Does anyone know if this R/R is going to last? Or should I...

Hello there, I've finished off Suzy's back end for now: New rear tire, chain, sprockets, fixings, rust removal, repaint, and so on. Now, it's time to reconnect the engine to the various electrical wires and cables I disconnected it from to remove it from the frame. Anyway... ...It's time to...

1982 GS750T - fitting tachometer drive gear... Did I screw up?

Thanks Rich, I'll see if I can wiggle it in. If not, I guess I'll take a deep breath and remove the head. And then take it as a sign that Permatex wasn't a good idea. I'll keep you posted =)

1982 GS750T - fitting tachometer drive gear... Did I screw up?

Whilst waiting for bits from CMSNL to arrive, I thought I'd install the tachometer drive gear back into the cam cover. Reviewing my Clymer Suzuki GS750 Fours 1977-1982 manual, this snippet on page 105 sent a shiver down my spine:
